TRANS GLOBE Lighting 100 BK Outdoor Canby 5.5" Post Base Mount, Black, 3" Diameter at mounting Bracket

I ordered this to mount a solar post light, that has outside diameter of 3.5". The inside diameter of the post of the light is 3" and a bit more. This stand has a 3" outside diameter. Thus they fits well. The three fixing screw of the light will lock into this base firmly. This base is of decent material, nice finish, same color as my light (black, satin). Easy to mount. Screws are included. It matches like original set. We are satisfied with the work after installation. This mounting is recommended, if you checked and have the right dimensions.

It fits a large outdoor lamp I picked up for a few dollars at a thrift store. Its plastic but not much is require from it but hold a lamp. Does the trick. It has not fade or cracked after a couple of winters. I mounted it on my front deck with one those bulbs that flickers like an oil lamp, looks so cool when relaxing having an adult beverage on my deck in warm weather.

Thin, about 1/16" cast aluminum? Paint seems strong. I have a lamp made for 3" post but decided to change to a post. I need to pad out the post but easily done as a trim. This base does not have pretapped holes so need to drill out corresponding holes and maybe use self tapping screws. Stainless sheetmetal screws should work. Plastic anchors don't expand much and the screws are steel, so will rust. I would buy better anchors and maybe stainless screws. Thanks to one person who let me know that the base is hollow and can act as a cap for the post. I wasn't sure if the base was solid or has flat bottom that would sit flush to a surface.

It is what it is. Nothing to say about the item, except it works as it is supposed to.

it did not fit to 3" pole

This base is a fine looking base and will do exactly what it was intended to do: Serve as a base for a lamp but not a lamp post! I say again, not a regular 3" diameter lamp post. The OD is this base is 2.98". The ID is a 3" lamps post, at least the three I have of different manufacturers, are between 2.75", ID and 2.88" ID. While a .01 inch difference does not sounds like much it will prevent the lamp post from fitting. I used an angle sander and sanded the base down so that it would fit. The problem is the fact this base is very thin and it is NOT strong. It is strong enough for a lamp to slide over the top for this mount but NOT a lamp post. I will look for a different lamp post base.

I have a wooden lighthouse that was built just for me and the light on top was electric and had went out. I wanted to replace it with a solar lamp but needed a base to mount it to the top. This was amazing because it not only made it easy for me to mount the solar light on top but it also added to the lighthouse in making the light appear to belong on a lighthouse. I am ordering a few more of these for the top of my deck railing posts so we can light the path down the steps. Really appreciate this products durability as well. Comes with a ground wire inside already installed. Great Product

I bought it along with a solar light to keep on my backyard deck. Works quite well and is attractive.

This is a base for a Luvo Lighting 60/548 Post Lantern so that the lantern can be mounted on the top of a post. Mine is no so mounted and looks beautiful. It also arrived earlier than predicted.

Just as pictured and described. Did the job. They are a little thin and fragile. I wouldn’t tighten any screws too tight or I think it will crack.
