This cable is advertised as an instrument cable for use with guitar in the title. However, it is not a shielded cable and can pickup noise when used for connecting instruments such as (passive) electric guitar, microphone, etc. I was struggling with humming noise and I thought it was my amp , guitar or home outlet grounding issue… I didn’t suspect this cable at all initially. it took a while before I realized the cable is not good. I purchased a different cable that is shielded “instrument” cable and no more humming noise. See video for noise on this cable and no noise on another … I can’t return this anymore since it is too late …

Got this because I wanted a shorter cable. It had a muddy sound with my bass and bass amp. Swapped it out for my longer Ernie and sounded good again
