Hilda and the Troll: Hilda Book 1 (Hildafolk)

What a great story. Beautiful illustrations. My daughter loved it.

What a wonderful book that models many valuable traits for children, including: - curiosity - bravery - kindness to animals - creativity As Hilda and other characters gather information from the radio, books, maps, and the world around them, they pursue adventures, make art, and connect with other characters. Additionally readers have their own map to look at and can use the pictures to decode parts of the story. Readers can also find hidden mythical woodland creatures. They might also discover tiny pixies wandering about. My six year old is transfixed as we read this together. He loves the Moomin books and myths, so this book is right up his alley. It also has him excited to start recording his natural observations as drawings, which has me thrilled (fine motor and science magic!). Highly recommended! One little thing to note: the book has a giant say, “Damn it.” Some families may have issues with that.

Such a cute graphic novel. The art and colors are really beautiful and the quirky creatures make me laugh. I felt so cozy reading this book, it really just makes your day better by reading it. It can be read by adults and kids and both will love it just the same. I also enjoy the material of the paperback novel, it's different than what most graphic novels are printed on but I think it gives it a nice rustic feeling. Only thing I wish is that it was longer! I just wanted to keep reading it!

What a sweet little book. I love the illustration style and the seeming depth if the world. Hilda is a brave little girl with a big heart. I would love for my daughter to grow up like her. I think I like these books more than she does.

These stories are amazing. The art in beautiful. The author created a beautiful magical world with great stories.

We had bought the paperback edition, but I was very disappointed in the quality. It felt a tad nicer than a run-of-the-mill dollar store coloring book. Honestly probably one of the worst quality paperback books I’ve seen in awhile. When the books came in the mail, my son immediately began paging through them. The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous and the stories are fun little adventures. They’re great at holding kids attention and getting them excited to read. I have a feeling we’re going to be reading and rereading these books A LOT. I definitely regret not buying the hardcover. The hardcover has a gorgeous spine/cover and much better quality for only a couple dollars more.

I was looking for a comic book that my daughter and I could read together as her first comic. I read a ton of reviews and came across this book and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. I was shocked to see the Netflix sticker on the front and found out that they made a cartoon based on the book and we loved watching it after reading this. We read it all the time now. If you are looking for your kids first comic, especially if it's a girl, then you have found the book. Thanks

My daughter and I both love these books. The stories are imaginative and the illustrations fabulous. If your child enjoys fantasy, and maybe needs lots of pictures to really enjoy reading (this is a graphic novel) Hilda is an excellent choice. Plus, if you have Netflix, you can show your kids these books as the originals.

Tuve que pedir el cambio de este articulo porque la primera vez llegó rasgado de la portada. Afortunadamente se me ofreció pedir un articulo idéntico para reemplazarlo. En cuanto al comic, el estilo de Luke pearson es simplemente precioso, además si te gustó la serie animada de netflix el cómic ofrece otra perspectiva de las aventuras de Hilda.

These books are great but this version includes netflix sticker on the front which is not shown here. Very dissapointing to see, the sticker ruins the whole look and feel of the book, it should have been clearly pictured here
