So much better than baked beans
I've had these in my wishlist for a little over forever. I originally had been buying some at the World Market where I live but it's a distance from me so I don't go there that often. I opted to check out Amazon and not only noticed that they carry it, but it's actually cheaper than what I was paying. After I ran out from my latest local purchase, I ordered. I've been eating beans with my breakfast for a long time. Granted, being someone who was born and raised in the US, it typically included baked beans or pork and beans as items such as this really weren't available growing up since it's more of an English/Irish thing. Regardless, I've had them before and prefer them over the others since these are not sweet tasting. After reading some of the reviews, I was concerned about damage but these arrived packaged well with no dents. Whew! They taste great, go well with just about any breakfast (or any meal) and having them available via Amazon is beyond convenient. I'm so glad I found them on here. I will definitely be ordering again.

The Best Bake Beans Money Can Buy
Heinz bake beans from the UK the absolute very best bake beans. When we visit the UK we always bring back as many cans as possible. These are so much different than the USA made Heinz. Worth a try

Excellent product and price but many dented cans
Rating the product as 5 stars. Beans are really good for your body in respect of cholesterol and fibre. However it is next to impossible to find Heinz beans in rural America unles you buy online where they can cost twice as much. Even my young daughter likes them as they are "different." Excellent on wholemeal toast.... THe bad part is that the cans arrived in poor shape. Packed on a cardboard tray with plastic surrounding it the cans arrived with half of the 12 dented. The dents were all on the side of the cans either the size of a quarter or larger. No tops or bottoms of my shipment were not damaged. It seems to me that they were like the sort of damage you might expect by dropping a can on the side of another from varying heights. As the cans towards the middle of the tray were damaged I'm not sure how it happened Now the insides of mine were not apparently compromised and there was no bloating, rusting or split seams and there was no explosion of gases when opened. The beans smelled and tasted just as usual. But be aware that tasting even a small amount of contaminated food can be dangerous Now the USDA does say that you should NEVER USE or taste food from containers that show signs of "botulism":leaking, bulging, rusting, or badly dented cans; cracked jars; jars with loose or bulging lids; canned food with a foul odor; or any container that spurts liquid when opening. So, whilst I am not too bothered if the cans are dented but not compromised you must make your own informed decision by reading relevant articles. If you have the slightest doubt return the items for refund I did not want to downgrade my rating by giving one star for packing but that is what the packing deserves

delicious healthy product. broken cans spilled everywhere inside undamaged shipping box
5 stars for a delicious healthy product. but down to 1 star for cans that can't even stay closed during shipping. I feel like last time I bought this at the supermarket (ages ago) the can was the traditional non-pull-tab sort. I was disappointed to see that Amazon had pulled the product, but was pleased to see it back in stock in time for my subscription order. (3rd parties were still selling it on amazon.com, however) I agree with other reviewers that cans must have been damaged before Amazon packed them - my package arrived with zero external trauma. but upon opening, 1 or more of the Heinz cans had completely broken open and there was sauce all over the other items in the box. a couple small dents here and there is one thing. I've received cases of canned soup, corn and black beans from Amazon, with a couple dents here and there, and never complained because it was not really a problem. (I realize the FDA recommends otherwise, but unless there is swelling or obvious botulism...) but dents combined with a pull-tab top that is crimped to open easily, seems to be asking for trouble. and in this case, resulted in the delicious Heinz tomato sauce distributed all over the inside of an outwardly-appearing-undamaged box. luckily nothing else in the box seems to have suffered from being doused. I'm not sure what to say. this is a great product - delicious, low-sodium, vegetarian, healthy. and for some reason nothing remotely close to the flavor is made in North America. but the first time I order this online and breakage is the result? (esp. when Amazon had pulled the product for investigation, and then cleared it for sale again?)

The Best!
My British Husbands favorite. Love that we can buy this in America. It means I don't have to cook. Beans on toast, delicious!!

Product Needs Better Packaging
The product itself is wonderful: Bright, tomato flavor, and much tastier than the Van de Kamp pork and beans I grew up eating. The problem is the packaging. Product needs to be packed in a box separate from other items ordered to avoid damage. This goes for pet food as well as other canned goods ordered. This isn’t the first time that this has happened, and other customers have complained about the same issue.

Great Product But Shipping is a Problem
We love the beans -- very mild and with great flavor. Excellent source of protein. Much lower in sodium and sugar than the U.S. varieties. Hard to find locally in our part of the U.S., so we thought we'd try ordering them from Amazon. Yikes! Half of the 12 cans arrived dented badly enough that we'll need to throw their contents away. It's no wonder -- the packaging is not appropriate for 12 heavy cans of food. The cans came packaged in two thin 6-pack cardboard sleeves with no internal padding between the cans or the 2 sleeves in the shipping box. All 8 of the outer cans in the sleeves showed signs of impact, with 6 of them badly dented. Sounds from the reviews that many others have had better luck with shipping. Unknown at the point if we'd again order online. We sure like the taste and the price but sad to have to waste so much food.
