Excellent overview of Hidden Pre-Pearl Harbor Knowledge
First, the book was an excellent review of what was known and covered up in Washington prior to the Japanese attack. But, the book lacks serious editing; it needs more comprehensive Index, some of the chapters are somewhat disjointed in presentation, and the Endnotes, which omitted some of the book’s information referred to in the text, should have been placed at the end of the book, not in the middle. The real drawback is the author's personal political views about how good Japan was compared with the Soviet Union and Germany. He states, "If I were sent back in time and forced to choose between living in Imperial Japan, Nazi Germany, or the Soviet Union, I would choose Imperial Japan, without hesitation." (P. 372). I would suggest the author read up on the atrocities the Japanese inflicted on American and Australian soldiers during the war. The Japanese today have tried to ignore these things in their current school history books; not to mention the cannibalism they engaged in, which has been well-documented. In another place, the author on page 380 states, "when Japan did not surrender in response to the Potsdam Declaration. Truman either did not understand or did not care that his refusal to clarify the emperor's post-surrender status enabled the militarists to block the moderates from bringing about an earlier surrender." This was not the issue. The fact is the Japanese military wanted other conditions: no occupation of Japan, Japanese control of disarmament, and control over any war crimes trials. I can only imagine how those terms would have turned out. That was understandably unacceptable. Other than the author's personal views which do not take into account other research, it is a good book that I would recommend with reservation.

Very compelling and persuasive!
Very compelling and persuasive! I appreciated the no-nonsense approach and was quite intrigued by the numerous credible sources. It is nearly impossible for a sincere reader to study this very comprehensive account of the events of Pearl Harbor without experiencing a dramatic paradigm shift regarding the possible motives and actual sequences of events.

This Author has websites defending confederacy
Like Tom Dilorenzo and other neoconfederates South was not fighting for slavery, Lincoln not religious he didn’t let the south go in peace and invaded them. Lincoln was bad guy. Assassination was not done by confederate sympathizer. Slavery was bad but slaves in A Erica treated better than other places. War was for defense of homeland and independence. Union flag flew over slave states longer than confederate flag. Several slave states fought for the union. Didn’t most people know that?Victors write history common lost cause thing people say. Says confederacy was Provoked and war not about slavery, even Alexander Stephens didn’t say what he did when he mentioned slavery. Lincoln supported Corbin amendment to leave slavery alone, and emancipation political stunt no interest in ending slavery. With the nonsense he wrote on his website, site may be down but articles available. If confederacy would of survived like he wished they did than no way America would of defeated Hitler and Japan. Our country needed to survive and states needed back in Union. Nonsense e wrote there I am sure this book is nonsense too. Has a decision, Lincoln saved the union and thought not at first goal was to end slavery wound up being aim to end war that the South started. And Roosevelt and Truman did what they had to do to defeat evil from Japanese imperialism and Nazi Germany and helped those citizens in those countries enjoy the freedoms they have know.

A comprehensive defense of the Revisionist view of the reasons for the Pearl Harbor attack
Michael Griffith is both comprehensive and fair in his treatment of this important historical subject. His detailed research on all points of view, especially the (opposing) Traditionalist view, is complete, and his conclusions are, in my opinion, indisputable. He fully acknowledges and builds upon many prior treatments of the subject. When he states an opinion, he makes it clear that it is his own, allowing the reader to consider the compiled facts independently.I am writing this review on the 80th anniversary of the attack. There is currently no better synopsis of the truth of why our forces in Pearl Harbor, under Admiral Husband Kimmel and General Walter Short, were caught off-guard on December 7, 1941: They were deliberately blocked from abundant, persistent, detailed, and timely military intelligence, to keep it a surprise to American forces in Hawaii, so FDR could motivate America to enter WWII. Griffith's arguments are compelling and incontrovertible. Any rendering of the history of Pearl Harbor should include this important conclusion!

Great book to find the truth about Pearl Harbor
This book gives the reader a on-site of how Pearl Harbor was manipulated to FDR’s idea of how to get into the war.
