I want to connect a monitor with a dvi port to a computer with an hdmi port The product info says I will need a dvi cable. Why not an hdmi cable?

You won’t need a dvi cable if you use this type of connection! This connect will allow you to go from dvi to hdmi, the only down fall is that you would have to connect Audi separately

When I used these, my display on the monitor has a red and hazy display. I thought maybe one was bad, but both do the same thing. Any idea?

I just did some testing with a few different settings and I wasn't able to make it behave the way you describe. It sounds like what you would expect to see if one or more of the pins in the DVI connection aren't making a connection. I would probably first try to rule out your source device as a problem by connecting the HDMI to a TV or something that has an HDMI input. Maybe it would be best to try that with the same HDMI cable that you're trying to use with the DVI adapter so that you can rule out a bad cable too. That will likely look fine, but if not then you know that there's a problem with the HDMI port on your source device or the cable. It would be great if you had a device with a DVI output that you could use to test the DVI input of your monitor, but I know that's not very likely. By the way, this works well for computers because they can adjust their resolution settings to match the monitor. I don't know how well it would work if you connect a device that's not a computer to a monitor that has something other than 16x9 or 4x3 aspect ratio.

Does it work for the PlayStation 2

No it does not work for your PS2 since your PS2 doesn't have a HDMI or DVI port. Thanks!
