Off To a Great Start...But!
The start of the book when Rob and Kyle were in the 'Stan fighting the enemy was well done. Having read a number of memoirs written by men in Special Ops and Forces, I've gotten a fairly good idea what makes them tick. So I can give that first part five stars. Unfortunately, when the guys are back in the states and head south of the border on a personal mission, (no spoiler alert here) that's when plausibility goes out the window. Green Berets are known as "The Quiet Professional." Emphasis on quiet. But the author forgot this because he wrote multiple times about Rob freely showing his military ID to those who didn't have the "need to know." Not plausible! Even I knew better to protect my military ID when I was active duty and not flaunt it about. The other part I had difficulty with is the number of times he and Kyle were injured from getting shot at, yet still kept on plugging away after the cartels. With blood loss from the exit wound by a NATO 7.62 round, you're in no shape to pick up your sniper rifle for round two. Or how about getting hit fairly hard in the ribs with a two by four? Reefing away on the pullcord of the boat engine after that kind of injury? In the end, just the fact that the author portrayed two SF snipers as obnoxious and belligerent by their discussions left a bad taste in my mouth. He should have known better, especially since he'd been in the Army and seen combat himself.

Hollywood
Interesting to a point. Just a flesh wound, ma'am a little too often. Good stormy weekend read, just don't take it too seriously. Shot bad, but shake it off and swim to catch a moving yacht. Seem to always have a pair of aces in the hole.

Quite Similar to "Taken"
Enjoyable but gosh it was very similar to Taken. Substitute 2 Special Forces guys for Liam Neeson. Mexico instead of Europe. Finale for both involving an rich Arab buying the girl. And both finish onthe Arabs yacht

Awesome
I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC of this book. I read the book Strike Point last year that he wrote. I had enjoyed that one. This one I enjoyed even more than the last one. It is a fast paced story about Rob Walker who returns home after completing a mission overseas. When he returns home he discovers his sister is continuing to hang around in a bad crowd and is possibly doing drugs. One night Marianne witnesses a drug deal and gets abducted. Rob begins his own mission to bring his sister Marianne home.If you enjoy thrillers that are fast paced. I would highly recommend this book. I can’t wait for his next book.I would rate this book 4.5 ⭐️

It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This!
What a difference real life experience, combined with creativeness and understanding of human nature makes in writing realistic novels! Better lee sets the bench mark for others!

C- hard work to finish
I don't often remark but this book I only managed to finish because I hate leaving a book half read, I always hope for improvement. The dialogue is atrocious...it's like something lifted from a foreign C movie,The main character interrogates his targets by asking them the same question and then shooting them before that actually answer. The number of times I read that his bullet holes left a "red spray' etc behind was baffling. The inconsistencies were shocking, how can someone be pinned to the floor, then next scene pushed to the floor.Definitely needs some proofreading and good editor wouldn't go amiss. The biggest gripe I had was the plot esp the last section seemed like it was lifted from the movie "Taken" only neeson did it better. The plot would be good even if I had to suspend every iota of credibility...cos it was still a good yarn. Absolutely no idea why bother including Kyle as he seemed to be just supporting fluff to the main guy Rob.All in all, I'm glad this was on Kindle unlimited as I would have been right fed up had I paid for it.As always, this is my opinion, your milage may vary.

Action Packed Brutal Tough Action Packed Thriller
My first book by this author and another name on my action thrillers genre.Rob Walker has served in countless operations in combat zones across the globe. Now, his mission is personal. After returning home from a combat mission in Afghanistan, U.S. Army Special Forces sniper Rob Walker is in a race for time to rescue his kidnapped sister from the clutches of a Mexican drug cartel.Having seen too much during a botched drug deal, she is snatched up off the New York City streets and handed over to cartel members who are after their payday. Suspecting her of being sold into sex slavery to satisfy the unpaid debt, Rob must act before it’s too late. But, taken deep into the Mexican criminal underworld, Marianne completely drops off the radar.Heading south on a quest to find her, Rob teams up with his best friend and spotter. He decides to do the only thing he can do: commit violence and punish everyone involved in his sister’s disappearance.Rob’s mission: save Marianne and send a clear message of brutality to her captors. But once a cartel hitman picks up their trail, it becomes a dangerous game of cat and mouse. Will they get to Marianne in time? Or will she vanish forever into the global sex trade? From war thriller, to action thriller in this well paced action adventure thriller, good strong characters and another character to keep up with.A clear four stars as plenty of action and yes quite brutal and realistic.

Great thriller.
Good lead in to a thriller of special forces friends and comrades on home leave after a deployment. While on leave a sister of one is kidnapped by drug dealing criminals for sale as part of their human trafficking operations which results in the comrades setting out to find her and take vengeance on the gang and it’s leader. Fast moving storyline of good versus evil and the misery that drugs inflicts on society.

An American ‘tough guy’ goes up against an evil Mexican cartel.
Plenty of almost non-stop action good verses evil. Quite entertaining if you are into gratuitous violence.I often loose interest in a book when there are ridiculous errors like ‘ he slipped off the safety catch of the Glock pistol’ for example. What stopped me dead was the word Unbeknownst,!!!. They say nothing divides us like language, that did it for me.

The Messenger
Wow, did Rob Walker send a message. Don't mess with family, or else that's war. Excellent book. The number of times I have been breathless with 'fear' and anticipation! Thoroughly enjoyable read.
