Sharp, Easy to Use, and Great for Small Woodworking Projects
Great little hand saw overall. It’s nice and sharp, easy to control, and the flexible blade makes flush cuts simple. I used it on a small project and it handled everything really well. Cutting hardwood trim was quick with the larger teeth, and it left a clean finish. Portability is a big plus. The 6 inch size makes it easy to carry around the shop or toss in a tool bag without taking up much space. For small‑scale woodworking or quick cuts, it’s a perfect size. Value for money is solid too. For the price, the quality of the blade and the accuracy you get are impressive. The beech handle feels good in the hand and the saw has a durable feel overall. The only thing I’m not a big fan of is the plastic sheaths that cover each side. They’re not ideal, but aside from that the quality and design are excellent. I honestly wish I had discovered this type of saw much earlier.

Handy and powerful!
I actually really like this saw. I didn’t want to spend a bunch of money on a power tool and have to take up space storing one so I got this. The design makes it easy to make straight cuts, it’s perfectly sharp, small, perfect.

Product as described.
No issues. Product as described. I love using Japanese hand saws sometimes when I need something small and quick and can't be fussed to get out something motorized. This isn't the best one I've ever had but it's certainly the most affordable. Cuts straight, has double sides for rip and cross cuts. It's also flexible and compact, which can be handy. Great value for the money.

Solid choice for beginners and hobby woodworkers.
Pros Sharp & Versatile – Double-edge SK5 steel blade (14 TPI & 17 TPI) handles both rip and cross cuts efficiently. Flexible for Precision – Thin, flexible blade allows clean flush cuts and detailed work. Lightweight & Comfortable – Beechwood handle and low weight reduce fatigue during long sessions. Good Value – Budget-friendly entry into Japanese pull saws with a lifetime after-sales guarantee. Cons Handle Quality – Beech handle feels less durable than premium alternatives. Flush Cut Technique – May leave small marks if not used carefully; requires a bit of practice. Learning Curve – Pull-stroke cutting can take adjustment for users used to Western push saws. Not Premium – Fine for hobbyists, but professionals may prefer other brands. Bottom Line The RUITOOL Ryoba SK5 is sharp, lightweight, and affordable, making it a solid choice for beginners and hobby woodworkers. It delivers good accuracy and dual-edge versatility, but those seeking flawless finishes or premium craftsmanship might want to step up to higher-end options.

This saw has worked great the few times I have used it so far. Great for disassembling furniture for reuse. Love how flush of a cut you can get and that the blade is slightly flexible. Very Handy

Nice saw for small cuts
I used the saw to cut some hardwood trim and found that the larger teeth easily cut through it in no time. I wish I’d discovered this type of saw much earlier in my life….
