Good quality. Works well except if your food is thin. If you’re cooking a thin piece of food the temperature will not read correctly. The product images are misleading because one shows it working with a thin piece of food.

I used the boiling water test to check the accuracy. The thermometer read 12 degrees low. I was sad. Then I discovered that the long shaft can be turned to adjust the reading and make it accurate. I needed pliers to turn the shaft (squeeze gently --don't crush the shaft!) and set the needle to the correct temperature (212 F for boiling water). Now it works fine.

I've gone through multiple meat thermometers and the last few years after my good old one finally wore out--started leaking water during ordinary cleaning.All good things as far as I can tell.1) Very easy to read with a nice distinct pointer, clear well-space temperature scale graduations and an adjustable red "target" that clearly indicates when the pointer is just where you want it to be.2) Temperature readings appear accurate. Both rare beef roast and whole roasted turkey come out perfectly cooked and that is pretty much the "full" temperature range for cooking any ordinary food in the oven.3) It cleans up very well. DO NOT PUT IN DISHWASHER! It does NOT LEAK to the inside during ordinary washing using a dish wand/microfiber towel, a bit of detergent and running water from the tap. I don't soak these things either. Why tempt fate?

I like the large easy to read numbers and it is easy to use.
