The Everything Economics Book: From Theory to Practice, Your Complete Guide to Understanding Economics Today (The Everything Books)

As both a student and teacher of economics, I appreciate the author's ability to distill complex economic theory in such a way that even economic neophytes, young and old alike, can understand. Without reservation, I recommend this book as the best supplemental text on the market for any introductory econ course, either at the secondary or post-secondary level. The only thing that could improve this book in my estimation is the inclusion of graphs to illustrate the concepts, but the author would likely have sacraficed some of the books accessibility had he done so.

This is an AWESOME book written by an AWESOME San Antonio high school teacher. He has written it so that high school students can truly understand economics, and with the mess we have right now with the American economy, we are certainly going to need some future leaders who can get a handle on what they will inherit. I cannot recommend this book enough!

It puts all those spooky terms together so one can follow the economicese so often used in print and speech, I now understand the reasoning behind the decisions made by government and industry.That does not mean I agree but just that I understand.

Nice concise Econ book

This book is very clearly written; he humanizes economics, the ideas are explained in everyday examples and language. He makes the topic exciting and comprehensible. Great book for an amateur interested in the topic.

This book covers a lot of ground, but it doesn't explain things very clearly. Topics are glossed over without leaving the reader with enough information to apply anything. This book might be a good review at the end of an introductory economics course, but even then, it won't help with any of the math because it intentionally leaves that out. Sometimes you need a graph to explain things concretely, and this book rushes through too many topics to take the time or space for that. Math might be hard, but it's used for a reason.Mostly this book is a reminder of a college class I took ten years ago, but even knowing these aren't new concepts, the brief treatment here isn't enough for me to feel grounded at all. If this were all new material, I'd be entirely lost!

Great book! Easy to understand, but detailed enough to give my kids (who are homeschooled) a decent understanding of how our government works.
