A spare makes life so much easier!
I recently bought a 12V Makita Drill/Driver set, which came with two batteries. When I also bought a Makita LC01Z 12V max Lithium-Ion Cordless Vacuum, Tool Only, which goes through batteries pretty quickly, I knew I'd want an extra. Power tool batteries are so expensive in stores that I expected to pay through the nose, but thankfully I poked around on Amazon and found my battery for 1/3 of the retail price.First of all, I ordered it on a Sunday and received it that Tuesday afternoon, which is just the kind of service I love to see, and it was appropriately packaged in a small box. I popped it into my charger, but it showed a full charge within 5 minutes, meaning it was fully charged when shipped. As for performance, it's the exact same thing as what came with my drill/driver set, and lasts as long as the others in my cute little Makita cordless vacuum, which I also adore; pop a battery in and put another in my pocket, start at one end of the apartment, and about seven minutes later change batteries to finish off the other end of the apartment. I plan to run all of the batteries down at some point just to keep them conditioned, but my current practice is to recharge them right after I use them, whether they're low or not, just for the convenience of being able to grab a tool and know how long it'll last before needing another battery.A note about price: I suspect that prices for this kind of item are seasonal; people do more home improvement over the summer, which increases demand and which allows sellers to hike up prices. This is based on my very limited experience of paying 1/3 of retail in early May, but finding much higher prices today, June 19th. At any rate, if prices are too high for you now, you might try to time your purchase for the slow season.

good replacementq
Bought this Makita for my makita cordless guns I bought almost ten years ago. My father would use them all the time and broke the other batteries. They sat in my tool box for years since at the time Makita stopped selling them and I could not find a replacement. One day was curious and saw it on amazon. I do admit it was a bit pricey on here but hey I am able to use my tools again and I saw it was worth the price. I used to use these a lot during my days as a mechanic.

perfect fit and great price
I purchase this 12 volt battery to upgrade my 10.8 volt Makita cordless Impax.Really extended the life of my tool and increased the torque and run time by leaps.the 12 volt battery will fit your 10.8 volt Makita stuff but you have to get for upgrade to a 12 volt battery charger from Makita, wat tell Home Depot has a sale on the combos they were selling the 12 volt impact with a battery and a charger and a 12 volt drill for 99 dollars in December so hopefully it'll happen again when it does buy em up up!!.

No green charge light on 10.8v charger
Bought this 12v battery for use in a 10.8v tool. The package says it works on 12v and10.8v and it does but, the charger only charges it to 11.5v and the green charged light never comes on. Stayed red forever. I haven’t tested the battery’s endurance yet so, time will tell.

Worked just fine
The batteries charged up well and are holding a charge fine. They were replacement batteries for a cordless drill and I'm very pleased with them so far.
