So far, I really like it!
Took a chance on this as my pneumatic nailer was too loud and violent, I also didn't like that it would dent the wood I was nailing into, this doesn't, it stops when it should. I also wanted something cordless and light. I was thinking of getting the Milwaukee cordless palm nailer but at almost twice the price, and being more bulky, I decided to give this a shot. So far I really like it and hope it continues to perform well. With this, I don't think I even need my hammer anymore to drive any nails, it works that well. A little bit of a learning curve to drive nails straight, just start off slow until it is aligned, then hammer away.I only have a few Skil 12v tools, they are good for homeowners and diy but for pro's it would be tough. This nailer I would use in a pro setting though, probably the best of the Skil 12V tools I have used.

Works great for hammering in small spaces, like removing pins from squeaky door hinges.
The media could not be loaded. The reason that door hinges squeak is that they never come installed with grease inside the hinges. So, the only way to fix squeaky door hinges is to tap out the pins one by one and grease up the inside of the hinges and the pins. With hinges left in their natural steel finish that usually isn't too hard with a hammer and a large nail (or with something like a center punch - I used to have a bunch of those but seem to have lost them). However, doors with their hinges painted over are almost always a lot harder because the paint gets inside the hinges and act like a glue to keep the pins from coming out. This makes it especially hard to remove the pin from the bottom hinge because there just isn't enough space to pound a hammer against the bottom pin. That's where this Skil autohammer becomes really handy, as shown in the video.Anyway, I'd been wanting to get this Skil autohammer since last year, but when I first thought about buying it, I noticed from a Google search that I had just missed a sharp drop in price from the Black Friday sales period. This wasn't something I needed urgently so I waited. Recently I checked again and found that I had just missed another sale at Lowes. So I kept checking and a week later, saw that Amazon had dropped the price to match what Lowes had been offering it for - $56.98. So, I pounced immediately on that sale and got this tool from Amazon.I don't know why this tool periodically comes up for sale. I think this is one of those power tools that is really handy but doesn't have a large need or sales volume, so periodically they need to clear out the old inventory.I should note however that Ryobi and Craftsman used to have a similar tool, and now both have been discontinued. So, don't wait too long to get one.Skil is a brand now owned by Chervon, a power tool making Chinese company that also now makes the Kobalt line of tools, which has become sort of a house brand for Lowes. And, while were at it, Home Depot is aligned with a lot of brands owned and made by that other big Chinese power tool maker, Techtronic Industries (TTI). TTI now owns and manufactures the Milwaukee, Ryobi, Ridgid, and Stiletto brands (and a bunch of others).P.S. I realized after posting the video that the can of grease I was using was a 20 year old can of Slick 50 One Grease with PTFE, which isn't on the market anymore. Oh well, most any good quality grease will work.

you can't hurt yourself.
great product. i used it for roofing nails, and with the magnet i dont have to hold it. plus a real hammer is a good chance of slamming your finger. this tool is a must for hard to reach places and so quick in driving nail.

Handy tool to have around.
Got it on sale, not worth the normal $100 price tag. It's built well enough and I bought it to install Romex staples in tight places. It works great for that and for driving nails. If Harbor Freight sold a cologne, this box and everything in it smells like it.

Handy
Has been a very handy tool. Only issue is there's no way for the main tool to hold accessories

If you need to hammer in a lot of nails in tight spaces this is a life saver
I was in the process of earthquake bracing my home and knew I would need to hammer in a lot of nails to secure all the brackets. The crawl space is tight and swinging a hammer in many of the locations would be difficult at best and impossible in some. The first thing I discovered was that there are not a lot of auto hammers out there. This was one of the few I could find and was at a reasonable price.I can say that this SKIL Auto Hammer worked wonderfully. It IS loud and it did have difficulty in a few instances driving the nail completely but overall it made the job so much easier I would easily buy it again and would definitely recommend it. On a full charge I believe it was able to nail in over 120 1 1/2" nails before it ran out of juice. Put the battery on the charger, took a lunch break, and battery charged up enough to finish up the job.

Excellent, reliable portable electric hammer
I recently offered to help my cousin wire up his entire new house in the UP, Michigan, Romex cabling throughout 3 stories with many rooms. Having done wiring for 50 years with conduit, Greenfield (BX), and Romex, I was up for the challenge except for the many staples that had to be placed correctly and sometimes in tight spaces. The hammer just doesn't hit the staple just right every time. Having focused on Ryobi tools and collected many over time, I was hoping they offered some portable palm hammer to be more efficient. No one makes such a tool but Skill. I gave it a try and was blown away with how well it worked out. Light weight, well balanced, with a great battery life. After using it for 3 days, up on ladders and tight locations, this has become one of my new favorite tools. Battery life exceeds the Ryobi ones known for long charge life. Makes me wish I spent more attention to the Skill tool products years ago. I would HIGHLY recommend this portable hammer with the right price tag.
