This set is awesome for the money. You have the option of cool or warm tone light and it has gradient options as well as dimness options. Great for a small photography studio or someone just needing a couple lights for youtube videos or maybe an actor doing self-tapes. My one gripe is that the tripods are kinda flimsy and you'll probably want sand bags to hold them down but you want those even with sturdy tripods so it's not that big of a deal. They are a little awkward to set up but what light isn't?

I am returning this. You get what you pay for! I know, everyone says that it's cheaply made, but don't expect a Broncolor at this price, so the make is not the issue. It's the operation. I bought the two light kit and each light comes with a remote. Each remote controls both lights and I mean both lights at the same time. You can't get these lights to operate independently, not even if you aim one remote at one light and the other at the other light. According to the directions, you can operate both lights from one remote and yes you can. Like I said, both at the same time and to the same degree of brightness. But, to add insult to injury, the diagram on the instruction sheet -- if you want to call these "instructions" -- shows a remote that is different from the one you receive, so good luck trying to decipher what all of the buttons mean. On and off work and the rest sort of work, but again all they do is the same thing to both lamps equally at the same time. You can change the color of the lights and you can make them go bright or dim. There is no other way to make one light stronger or weaker than the other unless you physically get up and move the light stand further away or closer. If you are a lighting ratio nut, this system is a different kind of nuts. Additionally, you cannot turn the lights off from the remote even though there is an off and on switch on the remote. The only thing you can adjust at the light, itself, is to individually turn the light on and off. I've been a photographer for a lot of years and use studio strobes. Constant light might be great for video, but not this set. And let me say this because a lot of reviewers complained about the remotes: There might be a kit that works beautifully. I just didn't get that one. I think I'd rather spend the money than fuss around with a bargain again.

I got these larger lights to replace a smaller set that just wasn't doing the job for photographing resale products. They were easy to set up and are plenty bright. They are off-gassing a horrible plastic-like smell that is permeating the house, but I am hoping that dissipates soon. That is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. Just two other little things: 1) one of the light sockets seemed to have grit or something inside, as the bulb was scratchy when screwing it in, then the light wouldn't turn on the first try. I removed the bulb and cleaned the socket really well. When I put the bulb back in it was still making small gritty noises, but I snugged it up tighter and it worked this time. 2) The remotes are not individually coded. Both lights respond to either remote. Watch out, because if you have one off and one on and use the remote, then when you turn them both on and use the remote, each will respond to wherever it left off in the cycle, so you need to get them matching before turning them off and then using the remote to control them both at the same time, or they'll be out of sync with each-other. You'll see what I mean. :)

They light up great, but are very top heavy for such a small base. The will topple over very, very easily!
