So I got this adaptor and it works fantastic. I did have to buy a pack of male to male rca adaptors to make this work with my component ps2 cable. Here’s the HUGE letdown. I cannot use my ps2 and its remote to watch dvds. Nope. The adaptor activates the old school security features and it likens to the old days when the pay per view channels were scrambled. So if you are looking for a fully functional ps2 to hdmi adaptor, look elsewhere.

Bought this adapter to connect my DVD (with component outputs) to my new HDMI only TV. The adapter did a good job converting the video (image quality better than RCA video or S-Video) but not as clear as when it was connected to my older component TV. Issue I had was that after a while when playing a DVD movie, the video would go black. Subsequent use/testing (watched the same movie 4 times) resulted in increased frequency and duration of these "blackouts". These blackout occurred at random times. Because of this, I had to return this adapter. On a side note, this same issue occurs with other component-to-HDMI adapter and with RCA-to-HDMI adapters, so it's not an issue with this manufacturer. As a result of this technical issue, I ended up buying an inexpensive HDMI-based DVD player which worked flawlessly with my HDMI TV.

Needed to set up some retro gaming consoles and this met my needs perfectly. decent length and each port well built does not fall apart.
