Delivers on all promises with a premium look and feel for this price point
TLDR (explanation below!) - fraction of the size of a typical backpack - fits a 15” MacBook Air (I know some are wondering) but read below first - premium feel proportional to the greater price tag - good for daily use for specific items, not throwing random extra things in - haven't had it long, but Tomtoc products always hold up for me ««EDIT»» It’s been another 4 months so I can confirm the last point now. Usually my cheap Amazon stuff that lasts a long time would still have some loose threads or torn seams here and there by this point nonetheless, but this is still in perfect condition. And that’s even with the laptop putting tension on the top/zipper as I describe below- no sign of stress on any of the materials there at all. It’s a snug fit, but I’m comfortable telling you that your MacBook Air 15” will be fine. It’s a very thin laptop though so I won’t speak for all 15” laptops necessarily, but I can say that as long as the length/width dimensions are no greater than the MacBook Air’s (seriously, not even a little), it can be a thicker 15” laptop and definitely still fit). ««Original explanations»» This is NOT a backpack. It is 7L compared to the typical backpack size range of 20-35L. Not a knock on the product, the marketing is fully transparent about what this is. But I think people see how it looks and think it might be a good way to downsize their daily backpack, not realizing how substantially smaller it is. It’s great as a carrying case for certain specific things that you need everyday, but not something you can just toss stuff into regularly. I assume this is by intent since if we’re being honest, I’d bet a lot of Tomtoc customers are dudes looking for something that 100% isn’t a purse, but just so happens to serve the exact same function. And that it does. Fits 15” MacBook Air. I bought this only after seeing another review here confirming it fit his MacBook Air (implying 15”). I’m sure I’m not the only one who was wondering if I could get away with it, so here’s my advice: it is true, it “fits”, and I carry it in this bag everyday. I don’t have a case on it, nor could I. As you can see in photos, it really is as big as you can possibly squeeze in there, and it does put tension on the top/zipper. No sign of wear and tear or strain at all, but it’s early. Also exposes the corners to damage if the bag fell top first. Just wanted to post this as an addendum to that other review. I have no regrets, but if you want something that truly fits your 15” laptop in the typical sense and doesn’t leave it vulnerable, this isn’t it (and importantly, doesn’t claim to be). Premium Quality. I’m guessing this is considered the budget brand Alpaka, but compared to the usual Amazon stuff I can afford, this is the gold standard of quality. I’m not even sure what the true premium brands would even improve on. If you typically buy $20-40 products like this on Amazon as I do, I promise you Tomtoc is worth every single additional penny for the premium quality, appearance, and durability. I haven’t had this very long, but I’ve had other Tomtoc products with similar materials and construction and they’ve all been great.

Can't recommend enough - quality made and functional
Quality construction. Good zipper. Sleek, modern look without a lot of dangling things. Perfect size for my work EDC. Fits my MacBook Air 13", iPad mini, Evergoods Civic Access Pouch 2L (which is not small), Alpaka Zip Clutch w/ my wallet and iPhone, AirPods, large Moleskine notebook (5x8.5") and pens, and several other items...all at the same time. Great pocket organization; really packs a lot. It's a STEAL at this price, as compared to other "higher-end" brands charging 2-3X as much. Can't recommend enough.

Excellent iPad Bag!
I bought the tomtoc 7L bag last month and I use it every day. It's fantastic. I wanted the smallest, simplest possible bag for my every day things. It fits my iPad (10th), Apple Pencil, Magic Keyboard Folio, charger, cables, 25oz Owala bottle, and an assortment of small items. It looks and feels much smaller than a laptop backpack. I can carry it comfortably, even for an hour or two. I love it because it: - has a padded main device sleeve I can find without looking - has a second sleeve to keep my keyboard separate - holds my water bottle upright inside, where it can't fall out - has just enough pockets in just the right places - has a zipper which never snags - holds its shape even when mostly empty - sheds water when rained on - can be carried fully unzipped without falling open I used to carry my laptop backpack anytime I wanted my tablet, but I really appreciate the smaller bag. It's quick to toss on my back and set down. It tucks easily on a bench seat, car footwell, or under a coffee shop table. It's much easier to bring everywhere, so I always have everything with me. I've never thought about "can be carried unzipped" as a feature, but when moving from room to room in my house, it's really nice to just grab it without closing it and go. Since all of the heavy things are connected to the back of the bag, they're all held up normally. The things on the front have stretch or zip pockets and the front side of the pack does not drape open enough for anything to fall out. I tried the 5L size first, but settled on the 7L. The 5L fit the iPad but it needed to be aligned carefully to go into the sleeve. On the 7L, I can drop the iPad in at almost any angle. The 5L has a second sleeve for the keyboard, but the keyboard blocks the inside back zip pocket when placed in it. On the 7L, the back zip pocket is in front of the second sleeve, so it's always accessible. Finally, the 5L was a bit too narrow front-to-back to fit the iPad, keyboard, and water bottle, so the front of the bag stretched when I closed it and always looked "askew". The 7L is just big enough to fit everything and stay straight and unstretched. The 7L is even big enough to fit a 14” M1 MacBook Pro in the main sleeve if I want a full laptop. It will even fit both, with the iPad and keyboard in the second sleeve, but then I think it's a bit heavy for a one-strap carry. It does have a few tiny issues: the bag doesn't stand up by itself when set down, so I need to lean it against something. Also, the carry strap loosens itself over time, so I plan to stitch it in place at the right length. Minor problems aside, though, I am delighted I've found it and expect I'll carry it around every day for quite a long time.

Good edc - room for iPad Pro 11” and planner
Fits my 11-inch iPad Pro and an A4-sized planner with some room to spare, though it looks slightly packed when fully loaded. The bag feels well made and sturdy, and I’ve already received compliments on its clean, masculine design. Giving four stars for now since I’ve only been using it for a short time—durability over time will determine the fifth.

Perfectly holds dBrand Killswitch with cover plate Nintendo Switch 2.
Perfectly holds dBrand Killswitch with cover plate for Nintendo Switch 2. It has plenty of room over head of the Switch 2 with cover plate but the strap is at the top of the game console when inserted into the slot normally intended for the slim laptop or tablet. Also there is a lot more room in that laptop/tablet slot even with the game console to the left/right if you need it. The whole sling backpack is well put together and smaller than a traditional backpack but larger than a traditional sling bag. The zipper seems like it is high quality and durable, it is larger than a typical zipper (on most backpacks) in the teeth and pull tab. Supposedly the zipper is made by YKK (which is the best average consumer zipper maker). The stitching seems quality and I have no complaints about the rest of the backpack except one and that is that it was intended for a laptop/tablet and not for a portable game console. So the slots are not designed for game controllers or chargers but there is enough room in the backpack for anything you need to carry. I got mine for just under $50 on Cyber-Monday and would say it was worth the money. The original case I got was the tomtoc slingbag for the Switch 2 and it would fit the console without a case but would not be able to zip up with the dBrand Killswitch case+cover plate+dBrand Joy-Con 2 grips for the Nintendo Switch 2; but this 7L tomtoc sling backpack has plenty of room.

Amazing bag.
I recently got my hands on the tomtoc Compact EDC Sling Bag, and I'm genuinely impressed. As someone who's always on the go, this bag has quickly become my favorite companion. Its compact size doesn't compromise on space – I can easily fit my essentials without feeling bulky. What really sets it apart is the thoughtfully designed compartments. I'm a stickler for organization, and this bag delivers. Whether it's my phone, wallet, keys, or a small notebook, everything has its dedicated space. Plus, the adjustable strap is a game-changer – it's comfortable and fits just right, whether I'm wearing it across my chest or on my back. Durability was a concern for me, but the choice of materials has put those worries to rest. It feels rugged enough to handle my daily adventures without showing any wear and tear. And the sleek design is a bonus – it effortlessly complements my style, whether I'm in the city or out in nature. In a nutshell, the tomtoc Compact EDC Sling Bag has won me over. It's functional, stylish, and perfectly suits my lifestyle. If you're in the market for a reliable sling bag, this one definitely deserves a spot on your shortlist. I.

My favorite Macbook Air sling!
Growing up, my dad always carried a man-purse whenever he traveled. As a kid, I found it a bit odd, but now I realize he was onto something. Fast forward to today, and I've finally embraced the concept—except this time, it's with the Tomtoc Sling Bag, and I couldn't be happier. The first thing that struck me about this sling was its incredible build quality. The materials feel sturdy yet lightweight, and the zippers glide smoothly—no snagging or struggling to open and close the compartments. The sling itself is compact, but don't let that fool you; it's impressively spacious. I'm able to fit my 13-inch MacBook Air and iPad mini with ease, alongside my daily essentials like keys, wallet, headphones, a snack, and some gum. There's even room to spare for a small notebook or an extra charger. What truly sets the Tomtoc Sling apart from other bags I've tried (including some that cost twice as much, like Nomatic) is the thoughtful design. The interior is well-organized with padded compartments to keep your devices secure, and the exterior pocket is perfect for quick access items like my phone or a boarding pass when I travel. The adjustable strap is another win—it's comfortable and stays in place, whether I'm wearing it across my chest or over my shoulder. While I’m not quite at the stage where this is my everyday carry, it’s become my go-to for days when I need to bring my laptop to the office or for a quick outing like a fantasy football draft. It’s the perfect middle ground between a full-sized backpack and a pocket-stuffing nightmare. The slim profile also makes it easy to store under a plane seat or in a crowded coffee shop without taking up too much space. One of the things I appreciate most about this sling is how it’s made my life more organized. No more digging through multiple pockets to find my keys or wallet—everything has its place, and the peace of mind that comes with that is priceless. Plus, for the quality you get at this price, it’s a steal. In short, the Tomtoc Sling Bag has exceeded my expectations in every way. Whether you're a seasoned traveler, a tech enthusiast, or just someone looking for a convenient and stylish way to carry your essentials, this bag is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!
