It's a beast!
This speaker is so impressive for the price point. It's built like a tank and it packs a wallop! The built in EQ is ok, but I prefer to use my 3rd party equalizer to maximize its sound potential. It is loud and sounds great at its highest volume...no distortion or audio sacrifices. It does take a while to charge, but it will stay charged for quite awhile a afterwards, so not a big issue. Bass is awesome on this!

A POWERHOUSE speaker, STURDY construction with EXCELLENT SOUND. Worth the extra money
I'm a professional musician and know good or terrible amplified sound when I hear it. This unit is POWERFUL, and has a tremendous, NATURAL SOUND. There are 2 speakers and 2 tweeters in front and subwoofers in back and on the sides. The overall sonic image is very WIDE, NOT annoyingly directional or harsh. And NOT COMPRESSED or distorted because the speakers can't handle the power. So the further you stand from it, the more the unit fills the room with a very spatial listening experience. Putting it near a wall (or even better, the corner of two walls) will enhance the already full bass response from the rear and side speakers reflecting off the wall(s). For the money you're not going to find anything better. The canoli roll JBLs (which are highly overrated and overpriced) don't stand a chance. Even the popular BOSE surroundsound gear four times the price would probably disappoint by comparison. The unit paired instantly once I first turned on the Bluetooth on my iPad, MacMini (and I assume) iPhone. There is a mic for hands free phone calls, so that may be a practical add-on. The rear panel has inputs for 3.5mm stereo aux, USB for playing tracks or charging devices, a TF card slot, and USB-C to USB-A charging cable (included, but supply your own AC adapter). There is a reset port at the far left which helps clear the unit from the previous device you used. Use a paper clip with one easy push to activate it while the power is on. Best thing is just disconnect BT from the previous device, enable BT in the new device BEFORE you power up the speaker. It will then know where to search for the signal. The EQ of the unit, flat-as-is, sounds GREAT. If by mistake you hit the EQ button at the far right, it will obnoxiously harshen the highs and evaporate the lows. Just hit it again for the real, better sound. I-tunes has an equalizer I use for tweaking and you can save presets. Really maximizes the sound capabilities for each recording you have. I believe Apple Music has a built in EQ and there must be apps that process any audio on your device before it gets sent to the speaker. This unit is LOUD if you want it to be, and the speakers don't distort or break up. Of course, check the output volume on your source device if it's too low or high, and adjust the unit volume to your liking. They remain independent which is nice. Full disclosure: I intend using this ONLY for indoor playing in an apartment. The BT range will vary greatly if you have a clear path or an obstruction like a thick wall between device and unit. I had problems finding a good spot on the other side of a wall at 20 feet. This will also vary with what device you are pairing. So a Mac mini BT signal will not be as strong as an iPad or phone. Unobstructed, it will likely have much longer solid reception. I’ve played a variety of music, mostly acoustic- classical, jazz, Brazilian and some analog oldies. They all sounded natural, uncompressed, really WARM & FULL. If you plan on listening to more "electronic" music with hypersonic subwoofer booms, then test out that specific music at volume levels and distances you need. As far as WATERPROOF goes, c'mon, man- just decide whether you want to listen or swim! BATTERY life is great. Just be sure to fully charge to three standing dots before using. I played it medium loud for 5 hours and the three charging dots were still solid. They claim 42 hours of battery charge, which will vary with the volume level and style of music you play. Speaking of SOLID, this unit is BUILT like a truck. It is quite heavy for that reason (7.4 lbs). It comes with an adjustable shoulder strap and sturdy in-unit hooks for safer, easier schlepping around. I don't recommend doing a 5K training run or Mount Everest hike with it. The rubber footprint at the bottom (and inset rear controls with fold-down rubber flap) are nice touches for stability on a slick surface. The manual is adequate for most uses. It reminds you that if you BUY A MATCHING SPEAKER of the same model number, it will automatically create a STEREO IMAGE between the two. Now is that HIP or WHAT?? Already tempted to get another!

Wow, for that price and quality, you can't go wrong,,,
I was initially skeptical about buying this speaker, thinking, "Who even knows this brand?" Experience has taught me that you get what you pay for. Plus, I'm a bit of a sound snob—I like my audio rich and tight, none of that tinny or distorted nonsense. Right out of the box, this speaker impressed me with its solid feel. The mesh covering is metal, not plastic, and the casing feels as robust as a tank. The carrying strap? I thought it would be annoying, but it’s surprisingly handy—I can now waltz around with my tunes effortlessly. Pairing it with my iPhone was smoother than a jazz solo. The speaker connects every time I turn it on, and it came with enough charge to start a small dance party right out of the box. Now, let's talk sound! This baby has a rich, full sound—no tin cans here! The highs are crisp, the mids are clear, and the bass? It’s like a mini earthquake. The drivers on each side pump out some serious bass, and this thing can get LOUD. I mean, "turn it up to eleven" loud, with zero distortion. The buttons on top stay illuminated, so you won't be fumbling in the dark. There’s an outdoor mode that trims the bass for more volume, but I love my bass, so I leave it off, and there's still plenty of volume for my backyard shindigs. Before buying, I watched a YouTube video where a blindfolded guy chose this speaker over a JBL every time. It sounded staged, but I decided to try it anyway. After nearly three months, I can honestly say this speaker is fantastic and worth every penny. You won’t be disappointed! 🎶🔊🚀 I'll be sure to provide an update in six months to share how this speaker holds up over time. Stay tuned!

Rugged little beast with great sound
The sound is amazing for its size. The 'two equalizer settings' really don't add much in the way of bass. If you want good bass from this device, remember its got passive speakers on the sides and back. Those won't add bass sitting on a table in the middle of a room. Place it in the corner of a room, where the sides are about 6 inches from each wall, and the back about a foot from the corner. That's how you get really great bass from this device. Of course, it still sounds OK if its not in a corner, so take it out by the pool and enjoy the fact that its IPX6 rated... but don't expect all the bass you can get when its making full use of the 3 passive radiators it has. There's no star-rating for usability, so here's my take on usability. The buttons on this device.. eg power, volume up/down... are NOT going to be pressed by accident. You REALLY have to push on them. I don't think the issue is so much the button itself. Its a nice clicky button.. but its behind really thick rubber which doesn't flex easily. For reference, a typical cherry-switch keyboard takes about 60g to press a key... the buttons on this device I would say require at least 3 times that... less than that TEST button on your typical GFCI bathroom outlet, but not by much. Given how awkward the buttons are to use, I have no idea why they make them stay lit continuously when the speaker is on. You'll want to avoid using these buttons and just use your phone, so finding these buttons in a dark room is totally unnecessary. Would be nice if they just kept the blue/green light lit so you know its on, and save some juice by not lighting the buttons continuously. Wireless Stereo Pairing: I only have one of these devices, but got a chance to pair it up with a friend's... and yes... it works very well. Not a feature you need all the time, but when you want twice-the-oomph, you'll be glad to know its there. This feature is the single biggest reason to never lose the instruction manual, as the setup procedure for getting them both paired in stereo is a bit tricky, so snap a picture of the instructions to your phone ;). Strap vs handle... going from a portable speaker that had a handle I thought I would not like the strap... but it really is the best of both worlds. A lot of time this speaker is on my desk (catty-corner to the wall to get all that extra bass) and looks great without the strap at all. Play-while-plugged-in: Absolutely. You can keep it plugged in and jamming to your music at the same time. Charging your phone: The USB-C port seems to be just for charging the speaker. If you want to charge your phone, use the USB-A port. It doesn't appear to be QC3, but does seem to do a decent fast-charge (like your typical 2.4a USB generic charger). Aux-In jack: Wait for the device to power up, and even bluetooth attach, THEN plug in the aux cable, and it will override the bluetooth connection and the 'blue' connected LED will turn green. No kidding... use this with your TV or laptop for a great movie watching experience. This is a really under-rated feature that many bluetooth speakers don't bother with. Glad W-King got this right. TF card slot: Seems like a solution looking for a problem. They should leave this out and instead throw in a small remote control (like the size that comes with most space heaters)... for when your phone is by the speaker but you need a quick way to skip a track, pause, or adjust the volume. Bluetooth connect: Yes, this device has a microphone and you can answer calls through it. But ask yourself if you really want to take a call where everyone in the room (and the next room over) can hear your conversation. Would be great to have the option to pair media or pair both media and calls. That way when your phone rings you can just answer it on your phone like normal. But alas, its a generic bluetooth solution and I haven't seen any bluetooth speaker try to address this. Overall thoughts: Great value for the money. Its a rugged little beast, which comes at the cost of the buttons being stiffer than I'd like. Sound is great especially if you place it where you can get those passive radiators to resonate off some walls. If occasionally you need more than 70watts... don't go find a bigger speaker... get two of these and use the stereo pairing. The Aux-In is a nice feature that you'll probably find you'll use more often than charging your phone from this device, but its nice to know you can if you needed to.

It's Big, Loud, and Easy to Enjoy!
Lots of things too like about this speaker. I've purchased two and love the both the big sound and wide sound stage when they are paired up. My primary use case is entertaining outside and this speaker fits my needs perfectly. 1) Others have said, but worth repeating, if you want to pair you need two of the same model, (X10-1 or X10). 2) For me they sound much better when equalized. Using a iPhone as a source only Apple Music has access to the built in EQ. My ears likes the iPhone "Acoustic" setting best. The built in EQ button is mostly useless for me. The settings are for "indoor" or "outdoor". For my ears the "indoor" setting seems to squash the high end. I like the "outdoor" setting better. The EQ setting is not persistent so you'll need to toggle each time you turn the speaker on if you prefer the "outside" setting. 3) Easy to pair together. Trick is to make sure neither is connected to bluetooth when setting this up, (quick double press on the power button on the one you want to be the primary). Makes a cool sound letting you know it's stereo paired. They operate much better together than I thought they would. Stereo pairing is persistent. Volume, EQ, and turning power off is automatically matched on the pair. Worth saying again that the stereo sound stage they have is amazing. Really kicks up the enjoyment of listening to music outside. 4) These are directional speakers rather than omnidirectional. Meaning that it very much sounds better if the front of the speaker is facing you. This is exactly what I want but maybe not what you are looking for. 5) USB-C charging is great. This speaker has great battery life, (lower volume = longer life), because it has a large battery. Using more than a 5w USB-A charger is where you'll see the difference in charging time. I'm using the USB charger that came with my iPad and the speaker gets fully charged in 3 to 4 hours. Summary: This speaker offers huge value if it fits the way you want to listen to your music. It's big, loud, and will make you want to invite friends over to share in a good time. That I could buy two for less than what some of its competitors cost only helped sealed the deal.

GREAT SPEAKER!!
I was very skeptical of purchasing because I had not heard of this brand and experience has taught me that you get what you pay for. When it comes to sound I am a snob, I like a rich tight sound I cant stand anything that sounds tinny or distorted. So right out of the box I was impressed with the feeling of this speaker, its very solid and well made. The mesh covering this speaker is metal not plastic, the casing is a very solid what I would have to guess is a plastic composite and also feels very solid. It comes with a carrying strap which I thought would annoy me but honestly its very easy to adjust and makes carrying this around simple and easy. Pairing with my iPhone was easy I didnt have any issues, and once paired the speaker will connect with your device each time you turn it on. It comes with at least a half charge or more out of the box which will provide several hours of enjoyment before needing a charge. Now the important part the SOUND!!! This speaker has a rich full sound, does not sound tinny at all, the highs are remarkable, as well as the mids and the BASS REALLY POPS!!! There are drivers on each side of this speaker that generate the bass and they work very very well. The volume can be controlled from your phone however you will need to adjust it on the speaker first as it is independant of your device, I usually set mine all the way up and then adjust on my phone. This speaker gets LOUD I mean REALLY LOUD and even when turned all the way up there is no distorsion and it still sounds great. The buttons on top stay illuminated while the speaker is on which is a really nice feature especially if youre sitting outside at night, there is an outdoor mode that removes some of the bass in order to provide more volume but I like the bass so even when using this outside which I do often I dont use the outdoor feature and there is still plenty of volume. Before I bought this speaker I read all the reviews I could find, and even looked for YouTube reviews and there were several. Specifically there was one with a father and daughter who compared this speaker to a JBL speaker of the same size comparisan. The father was blindfolded while music was played from each speaker without him knowing which speaker it was, and he chose this speaker each time with each genre of music that was played. His critera was overall sound Highs lows mids, I thought that it was probably setup but I still wanted to try this speaker and figured if it was not to my liking I would return it. Ive had this speaker for almost 3 months now and Im telling you this speaker is GREAT!! And well worth it considering the cost of a JBL or other comparitive speaker. I honestly believe you wont be disappointed if you decide to purchase this speaker.

Great but wish the pwr btn was instant on
Great speaker for the price. Plenty loud. Good bad. Quality seems good. No issues with connectivity, except maybe once out of the 3 months I've had it. Haven't tested the waterproofness. Sound quality is a bit on the brighter side compared to another well known 4-letter speaker company. Does vocals REALLY well which is what sold me on it. Sound quality is basically the same as the BT speaker from that 4-letter company that costs 3x as much. The one thing I hate about it: you have to hold the power button down for 3 seconds to get it to turn on. My old BT speaker you hit the button and its instant on or off. I REALLY wish there was a setting where I could just change the power button to be instant on, then it would be perfect.

Love W-King
Been hooked on the W-King brand0∆for a few years now, and have yet to be disappointed. There's always small things with any product that are sure to annoy (the lack of real EQ options other than BoomBoom and BOOMBOOM, or being unable to connect a D10 to a D9 for the True Stereo Sound), but with the bang for your buck you get with this company, the little things quickly become non-existent. Having owned this particular speaker since the end of June, 2023, it's been my go to portable since the day I pulled it out of the box, replacing the pair of T9's even as my work speaker. The big rubber block that covers the ports adds peace of mind when in wet, sand, or just dirty environments, the strap is certainly preferred over the handle that some w-king's come with and it's bottle opener clasp has gotten it's miles in for sure. The casing may seem a bit flimsy to the eye ¹, but knock on it s few times and you'll find it sturdy enough. I expected the open ended speakers g become an issue very quickly, but much to my surprise, they've held up like immortal beasts to any random day to day hits that they may have taken. The sound is clear, and can be heard through my entire work building at 50%, even when the heavy equipment is on if I turn it up to about 70%. No one ever has to guess what song is playing. If they can hear it, they can hear it clearly. Using Amazon musics built in equalizer adjusts the sound noticably, allowing me to get the speaker to sound exactly as I like it. I would assume any other app that has a built in EQ would work just as good. I have found after nearly a years use, I do have to have the volume consistently around the 80% mark. I maybe have over used it a bit, but 6 days a week for 10 hours a day over 9-10 months at this price, I'm not going to complain much lol certainly got my money out of her. She's taken a couple falls here and there, barely a scratch in the hardened plastic, and though I work in a wet and cold environment, none of that seems to have caused any noticible problems. Battery life started at about 10 hours at 70% volume consistently, has dropped to about 7 hours at the same volume level, which is acceptable for how much I use it, and need to charge it everyday. My only real complaint, and it's a minor one, it's after about 3 months, it stopped charging anything I plug into it. It's a minor compliant because it is expected, it's been a problem for me with every W-King speaker I've had, the port seems to simply stop working on all of them after between 2 and 5 months, so obviously not a deal breaker for me since I continue to buy the brand, just an expected annoyance. It's still beyond worth the price. ⁿ44
