need this for heating people had no heat had bad relay got this in day wired in they had heat it got colder

Mainly got this as a backup to have on hand. Also have a spare 24VAC transformer so I could do some bench tests before it would get buried away on the shelf. First time I powered it it had to have been about the loudest AC relay I've ever come across, and vibrations were quite substantial. If it had been installed it would have been audible over the noise of the A/C fan and compressor... from inside the house. However, after cycling it a few dozen times on the bench it's now nearly inaudible and vibrations have normalized.Lug and spade terminals are solid and substantial. Removing the face cover exposes the contacts and manual test button. The coils for these seem to range between 12-15Ω, this one measuring on the high end at 15Ω. So a bit less taxing on your transformer than average, if only slightly. Left it energized for several minutes and coil only got moderately warm, not hot.So not terribly impressed with initial operation but at the same time can't find any particular fault with it either. If the buzzing hadn't settled down though I'd definitely have returned it. I see others are also complaining about the buzzing though so don't believe my experience is just a fluke.

So far so good, been installed 2 months now. Seems to be good quality.
