Portable Air Conditioner Window Kit, Upgrade Portable AC Sliding Window Kit with 2pack 3m Seal for Exhaust Hose (5.1"/13cm)

Intend the find the easier something goes together, the more poorly made an item is. This wasn’t easy to put together, but it is simple in its design. Everything fits together very well, but you need to be careful when assembling. This ensures there’s no gaps anywhere, which I really appreciated. I like the sliding metal plates to screw down the pieces. It’s much more heavy duty than the window adapter that came with my unit. The additional 3m weather stripping that came with was super easy apply and adheres quickly. I had some trouble getting the exhaust hose into the port. I suppose I should have put it in the insert port before putting the port into the panel. Overall, it’s doing what I need it to do, which is let me kick the hot exhaust outside rather than into my garage through a dog door, which is what I was doing before haha. It also allows me to have my portable unit in my living room where it’s most effective. If anything changes, I’ll update my feedback.

Until this past Summer, I've never felt that I needed A/C in my home which is located on the coast of California. I can't sleep when the evenings aren't cooling down so I purchased a portable A/C unit for the master bedroom. There is only a sliding glass door in there so I needed a kit to accommodate the exhaust through the slider. After reading positive reviews for this one, I landed on this one. I'm pretty handy at assembling items but I didn't even need the instructions for this one. Super easy and adjusts to many different heights. The exhaust hose on my Frigidaire 8K BTU portable A/C unit fit perfectly inside the hole in this kit. I did purchase different insulation tape in white to match my doorframe and some white adhesive tape so that I could open/close the door while keeping the kit attached to one side of the frame. Also easy to remove and put away for the colder months without using a lot of storage space.

It was easy to put together, even when stressed from power loss during hurricane. The lack of a hole to accommodate the drain tube was a major shortcoming. I ended up cutting a hole in the duct hose and then using duct tape to secure. The insulation tape was useless for my sliding door. I ended up using packing tape to cover the gaps. Still, was easy to implement and helped me implement a room unit in a bedroom.

I like the sturdiness of the plastic and the nice tightener that is a higher quality than what came with the DeLonghi unit. It was fast to put together for my bedroom window and I put some foam around it to seal it up good as well as wood dowels to keep the window solidly down on the top of the vent unit. This is a much better quality and huge upgrade to what came with my unit. I am very happy with it and would buy it again if need be, however I feel this will last several years. There's supposed to be a hole for mounting the screw, washer, "T" plate and wing nut to lock down the adjustable feature of this sliding door kit (LPN RR DV108 3029 - as marked on the box) on the section that has the vent hole, but as you can see in the second picture - there isn't one, no hole - but there will be one in about a half hour. It's a simple enough fix, but it's a nuisance. Included in the kit is a "bird guard" (a retaining ring/exhaust vent cover) that clips to the hose adapter. It has four "snap" retainers that are about one inch long designed to fit over four clips in the adapter that are about 3/4 inch long but are recessed in the adapter. (Read that again, the measurement parts.) The ring doesn't fit. It's useless, but I didn't intend to use it anyway (I have a sliding screen door outside the glass one). And no "product manual", which is probably useless anyway.

These panels work great! The windows in my apartment were too tall for the panels that came with my portable AC unit, and these ones are perfect! I even have 2 panels left over. I can add the two other panels onto the ones I'm using and place them in the sliding door to my balcony in my apartment. My only complaint are that the panels could be slightly longer, and I wish there'd have been an option to add one of the sets of sliders to the bottom where the hose attaches so that I could have the hose direct a little higher when I place the AC unit at my balcony door. Mostly just to prevent any additional heat from potentially coming in. My other complaint is with the provided weatherstripping. The adhesive doesn't stick all that great to the area around my window so I do have a small gap where heat and humidity can still leak through because of how my windows are setup. (Slide left/right rather than up/down)

This vent kit fits my window and air conditioner perfectly. It is sturdier that many others I have tried, easy to. install and looks great.

The kit does what it’s supposed to do and makes it easy to set up the portable AC on a sliding door. The material is a bit thin and it bends slightly, but it still works. For the price, it’s good, though I might look for a sturdier one next time.

Directions aren't the greatest, but I easily figured it out. This kit fits well on my 78 inch tall patio door and my 5.9 inch exhaust hose. My building is 52 years old and the old door holds it in place. I recommend this kit. I'm ready to fight the next heat wave. Bring it on, Mother Nature.
