Palette Mini 07: Monotone: New Single-Color Graphics (Palette Mini, 7)
F**O
Great book, however it's not suitable for direct palette sampling (because of the print style).
I am a fan of Victionary books, owning quite a few, and eager to sample more beautiful palettes, I jumped into this newly developed "mini" series. The idea in itself is nice, having these pocket size books, and the curation is excellent as always (especially excellent in this case). The only trouble is that, unlike the other books from the publisher, this book has traditional paper pages, and not the plastic-coated one; this is surely good for the environment, however it strongly reduces the saturation and contrast of the images inside making it almost impossible to accurately reference the pictures, for example in your designs. The reading experience is also slightly impaired, as the pages are much more influenced by the ambient light.I still recommend getting this series of books, however more as a fun collection to own and generally be inspired by, rather than a tool to get actual colour inspiration for your projects. In the end my final recommendation is to get this book to be inspired, but not as a technical tool for palette making.
