To be fair and honest, I will use this same review for all the snap caps I have purchased, nothing changes just because the caliber does. Snap caps are an inexpensive tool to use for training your trigger pull and reaction when pulling the trigger of your pistol. Before you take your pistol to the range, throw a few of these caps in pistol and practice squeezing the trigger so you get the feel of how much force you need and where it breaks when firing. Next, place a nickel or dime on the front of the barrel (on a semi-auto, this won't work on revolvers), close to the front site. Find a target to aim at, squeeze the trigger until the hammer fires, all while trying to keep the coin in place. Many people will flinch while pulling the trigger in anticipation of the of the upcoming shot. This practice will help minimize or eliminate this problem. The best part about this practice is you're not wasting ammo at the range, now when you get there you can feel more confident. These caps are used to protect the firing pin from bottoming out in its bore buy absorbing the impact when the trigger is pulled. You don't have to use them, but if you break a firing pin and have to have a gunsmith install a new one, the price for these caps would have been a real bargain.

As a test, I cycled three of these and kept another three new as a control group. After an hour or so, the primer caps were indistinguishable from the ones kept new in box. After working through all of them for a few days in a row, I still could not notice any wear in the actual primer cap. They work perfectly with speedloaders, which mean you can practice most of the skills you actually need to shoot. As a side-note, dry fire practice with revolvers is a lot more practical than anything that needs to cycle. I only have a revolver so I cannot speak for how they might cycle through a lever action, but I would imagine it to work alright.

Excellent for dry firing and reloading drills. If you're into competitive shooting and want to cut down your reload time, get a few sets of these so you can do realistic course of fire simulation. Load them into your speedloaders just like real ammo, and run the CoF, reloading as appropriate. It feels a little different than real ammo -- it's lighter -- but the dimensions are right. They do have enough weight to drop out of a cylinder, more like live rounds than empty shells, so keep some brass around to make sure you're punching hard enough as you build speed. Opinions differ on whether there's any damage likely to your revolver by dry firing. Smith & Wesson, for example, says there's no issue. But I've heard enough reports of damage that might be traced to lots of dry fire, to feel that if I'm going to do a couple hundred pulls, why not drop in the snap caps? I get less use out of my 9mm snap caps. The skills I need to build there are harder to simulate due to the need to constantly rack the slide. One set is plenty. But I've got three sets of .357 snap caps, and they're getting plenty of use and improving my reload times. I did see another reviewer recommend getting the .38 Special instead. Agree with the versatility, but if you want to practice reloading .357, you'll want the .357 snap caps; the two cartridges feel and guide just enough different that you'll want the closest analogue to what you're going to use in competition. Recommended.

It's A-Zoom. They've been around for over 20 years and my go to for snaps. I use several other calibers - .40S&W, .380ACP, 9mm and now the .357mag. All have worked as they should when they should with no issues what so ever. Have owned the .40's for over a decade and they still work like new, so there's that. Prices have gone up since then, so my only real complaint and why only 4 star value. A suggestion to A-Zoom however. Please begin to make 7 and 8 rnd packs for us plus model people. Have to buy multiple packs to fill up the cylinder on my 686+ and then have multiple rnds I dont use. Gladly pay an extra few bucks for an extra round or two to even it up.

Fit good, feel good. The rubber pads on the bottom do not like revolvers, however. They stick out a little too much and are put on poorly, so you might need to clip parts of them or they'll get stuck when actually dry firing.

Dry firing your weapons is the second best practice you can get shortnof actual range time. Dry firing guns, especially older ones without a transfer bar is a definite no-no. These snap caps allow you to Dry fire all you want with no damage to your guns. I have them in a bunch of calibers. Get them, you'll thank me later.

These are aluminum snap caps that resemble ammunition but are completely inert . They are constructed of aluminum and are available in just about any caliber a handgun, rifle , or shotgun could be chambered for . The snap caps have a soft silicone insert instead of a primer . This cushions the firing pin , so you can dry fire all you want without damage to the firing pin . They can also be used to practice loading and unloading different types of firearms. These snap caps are well worth having.

One of my latest purchases involves a Revolver in .357 Mag, got these to use to function test and train. I will also use them for a Lever action in the same caliber. Great product and have used these for many years.

bought this so my wife and i could practice trigger control and reloading a S&W 686. the weight is close to a real .357 round. i only downsise is that the S&W holds 7 rounds but you get 7 snapcaps ☺

These work well, but are quite a bit lighter than real loaded rounds, so they don't exactly feel like the loaded rounds when fry firing.
