Simply the best sounding earbuds/headphones available. You won’t be sorry.
Yes, they’re expensive. But Im telling you I have no regrets. Over the past few years I’ve owned Bose Quiet Comfort, Sennheiser Momentum, Shure Aonic 215, Bang & Olufson H95 and Beyerdynamic DT770. I listen to a lot of music, movies and pod casts. The Bose were good but lasted less than 2 years before one side just stopped working. The Sennheiser Momentum are built to last, great features and great sound but they’re just not that comfortable after an hour or two. The H95’s were good but just good and for $800 you’d think they would surprise you. I first bought the Shure 215 and really like them. Then I lost one of the ear pieces. If I could kick my own ass, I would have. I decided to replace them but this time I bought the Shure Aonic 5. I paid $689 to get the bluetooth adapter. I know it’s a lot of money but, they are sturdy and built to last. Im hoping it’s my last pair for a long time. I will be updating this review. The sound quality of the Aonic 5 is unmatched in its price range and below. To get something better you’d have to spend nearly a 1k. It mids are strong and clear and the highs are crisp without sounding tinny and the base is perfectly balanced. The bass gives you that solid thump without sounding like a pair of Beats. If you’re going to invest the money into a pair of Shure earbuds, go the extra mile and get the bluetooth adapters. They are very comfortable and wrap your ear to keep them in place. If you wear your earbuds for extended periods of time, the quality of sound is very important to you and you demand quality and durability then you want the Shure Aonic 5 with bluetooth adapter.

Good sound quality & Fairly decent bass!
Origionally, I bought the Shure SE425-CL. Although they worked, the bass side was really lacking for my personal tastes. To be clear, I'm not a rock/accustical listener. I prefer EDM where the bass is half the vocal/melody, a big focus to the music. The SE425 it was hardly audible. Although its not a DRASTIC increase on the Aonic 5, it is still a more more deeper, pronounced bass. Personally, I still wish these had more ( Like a subwoofer in the room ) or like you experience on a handful of <$100 earbuds. But, Those earbuds tend to use VERY loud bass to hide their flaws in the mids/highs.Sound Quality: I'm pretty happy with it. I tend to like bright audio to make Synths pop, so I did end up changing the tubes to the "Bright" ones. The SE425's felt like the audio was kinda, compact together? Compared to those at least, the Aonic 5 does feel like it was built to be spacial. The audio just feels much more open/room-like, you can tell instrtuments apart more, etc. Compared to the SE425 at least, I feel these are very clear. Much more happier with these by far!Comfort: I appreciate these come with so many sizes and types of sleeves. Rubber, Foam, Memory foam. Everyone is different. Rubber ones tend to bother my ears after hours, and I know foam bothers some people too. I personally find the foam ones very comfy and really enjoy the memory foam ones as well, the memory foam expands a little slower...so I find them easier to put in. They seem to be more softer expansion too.Also. I have to say. I'm all for the fact so much is replacable on these things. Break the wire/Snag it? Who cares, you just pop the earbud out via detachable wire and buy a new cable. Somehow break the nozzle going from the earbud to your ear? Who cares. They're replacable. Why cant more earbuds/headphones/honestly anything, just have ease of replacement? I feel these are designed to be less e-waste in that sense. Anywhom. I think my hunt ends here. I dont want to spend more on earbuds, and these I at least feel happy with them. Very happy!

Read this if you play drums - Crystal Clear For Drumming!
I play drums to music and have always been plagued with the dilemma of cranking up the music in my headphones to be able to hear the music and vocals over my acoustic drums. Once I get that balance right, I am still left with listening to a muffled version of my drums in my ears. I recently bought microphones for each drum and plugged them into an Audio Interface. Now I can finally hear the drums in my ears with perfect clarity and balance thanks to these Shure AONIC 5 Earphones. These Shure AONIC5 when used as IEMs are the right blend of isolation without needing noise cancelation yet the 3 drivers allow the drums to sound recording quality perfect in my ears even when mixed with music and vocal tracks.

Not impressed, Cant change ear bud tips, Volume controls fail, They produce very little bass?
I twisted left and right and pulled hard trying to get the default ear bud tips to come off and they will NOT come off. ***they are stuck on very well, I literally started to tear the foam while trying to change the tips and gave up as I didnt want to destroy them??????????????I tried the volume controls on my phone and my laptop and my desktop THEY DO NOT WORK at all????????I have 3 different pairs of cheap $50/$75 earbuds and over the ear headphones that produce WAY MORE BASS then these $500 earbuds do???? ***this is unacceptable in every way....***I often get lemons for some strange reason???I will try these for a few more days and see how it goes and try to find a video on how to change the earbud TIPS to see if this helps with the terrible fit and no bass........ I have the bass turned up all the way on all my devices and very little comes out of these earbuds???I expected so much more from all the positive reviews and $500 price tag......I'm very disappointed for sure.......

Accurate and spacious sound
I'm hearing things in my music that I've never heard before. The details these earbuds deliver is extraordinary. Yes they are expensive. But if you crave accurate sound they are worth it. If all you listen to are MP3s or some sort of compressed music files you can find cheaper options that will probably do. But if you're like me and only listen to uncompressed music you will love these earbuds.

Worth it.
Expensive? Yes. Incredible sound? Without question. Don’t buy these if you are looking for bass to overwhelm you. These earbuds do not color the sound, they deliver clear separate instrumentation unlike any other ear buds I have heard. I absolutely love these.

Not what you'd expect from Shure.
Ever since I got my first pair of Shure earphones I was sold. The product line never represented a 'wholesome' music experience, but crisp sound separation with an impressive sound stage. My friend once joked that the Shure earphones are so clear they add new instruments to the track. I went from SE 315, to 425, 535 and finally 535 LTD. The last pair was brilliant, with much improved bass and the same clarity I've come to expect. When my 535 LTD fell apart, I decided to give the AONIC 5 a go. A new Shure lineup after all these years, surely they must be even better. Boy do I wish I went for the 535 again. The AONIC line seems to be going for a completely different sound profile - a rounded balance with deep bass and controlled highs. It delivers in the bass department, with really nice depth and a significant improvement over anything else I tried from Shure before. The unfortunate thing is that I've not been buying Shures because of a passion for deep bass. There are other, frankly better brands for that. Shure always shined in terms of separation, to the point where it was uncomfortable to listen to (in a heavenly way once you got used to it). With AONIC 5, all of the other sounds blend together with very poor sound separation, the highs are controlled but lack the crispness, and the vocals come across as muffled. The only music I find truly enjoyable is electronic music with strong bass lines. I am not sure if it's just my pair - I've read the reviews prior to purchase and they seemed well reviewed. Most of my playlists are either vocalists, pop, instrumentals or pop/rock though and the quality of the sound there is more comparable to a £100 - £200 pair of earphones.I tried playing around with some of the provided accessories that let you slightly change the sound profile. While it makes a tiny difference, it doesn't change the underlying balance of the sound at all. Overall, at least for me personally, the AONIC line is a step in a strange direction. It tries to compete with bass heavy earphones and completely loses what made the Shure sound great. I will likely end up buying the SE 535 LTD again and not use the AONIC anymore, it's been a disappointment.

Perfect 10/10 for those serious about sound.
I think these are terrific. The sound is extremely vibrant and the acoustic balance is just right allowing the sound to balance from top to bottom and the mids just making the balance right. The treble can be slightly higher than needed depended on the quality of the recording etc but I think this is common due to the amount of drivers pushing the sound as best as it can in since a small package. In my opinion if you just want heavy pointless bottom base then don’t waste your money and go buy some cheap boom garbage headphones. If you Crystal Clear Sound and a fantastic sound balance with good bass and superb tannoy effect processing then this is a must.

Claudio.

Wow - these have more clout than the reviews would have you believe
I was expecting something refined, detailed and with great soundstage but probably lacking a bit of bass presence. Pleasantly surprised and happy to get to know the default tuning before trying the warm nozzles. Not sure what I'd change at the moment...

Superb IEM’s
These are a fantastic upgrade from the SE535s. The sound quality and separation is excellent and well balanced when listening to lossless output. They are pricey but in terms of the quality of the sounds delivered feel worth every penny.
