Good value, hard to open and close
This is a good design for my application, which is storing (2) SSDs that feed a video field recorder. The lid is very hard to close at first, so the best way to deal with that is to hold it vertically on a hard surface, and push down hard on the lid. The main reason the lid is a bit hard is that the internal foam pads are tight to the drives. This is actually good as the drives can't move inside the case at all once the lid is closed. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is the lid latch is somewhat difficult to release. While this is good for avoiding the thing popping open on its own, I would pay more for a better latch, like a pushbutton or lever or something easier to use. However, for it's price it is an excellent value. My guess is with constant use the lid latch might wear out after a while.

A Little Brittle
I use internal hard drives like external ones along side docking stations and this case provides a secure method of transporting them. It has a nice foam stopper on the lid to ensure a snug fit without any wiggle room while also being gentle to the connection interface. One small problem, however, after a few months of use, the snap loop cracked and does not close completely which could allow for the passage of dirt and water particles. I still use it since I don't through my hard drives into the mud (very often) but it was a little disappointing that the case proved to be a little weak. I'm sure it would save the drive if I were to drop it, but the case, I doubt, would survive.

OK as a single unit, room for improvement
**EDITING as Amazon is combining reviews for both the NC10 and NC25 containers.Purchased 1 of each (NC10 & NC25) to test, and as noted to the manufacturer, there is much room for improvement. The cases are identical to each other, just with different foam inserts. The case itself is a light weight material, with adequate foam protection, in the base, for contained drives. The NC10 lid however has minimal foam, and would not offer much protection for the drives if dropped. The NC25 variant has an additional foam insert in the lid that better protects the smaller drives. When fully loaded, the NC10 plastic handle does show signs of strain where it is attached to the case lid, which would likely break over time with the higher usage we would intend it for. The NC25, having a lighter maximum load with the smaller drives, should hold up over time a bit better. Both the lid hinges and clasps are of a cheaper material that would also likely not stand up to a higher usage scenario.Instead of a flush mounted top handle, would rather have recessed handles on the top/sides. This would allow for a more secure handle attachment, as well as stacking for multiple units.Overall, the NC10 may be acceptable to anyone that is looking for an inexpensive and minimal movement storage solution that does not stack, but is not suitable for those looking to have multiple units and/or higher movement scenarios. The NC25, may be more suitable for higher transport scenarios, but be attentive to the handle, hinge, and clasp wear and tear as they may deteriorate over time.

Perfect Hard Drive Storage!
The Crest 3.5 inch IDE/SATA HDD Storage Boxes are the way to go!They come in all kinds of colors so you can organize them accordingly.Red for Video, Blue for Music, white for Photography, etc...They stack on top of each other nicely. The only thing I would recommend since they are made of plastic, is to drop in a little packet of Silica Sand so no humidity can build up in the boxes.Theses are much better than the Black Plastic ones that look like VHS Cases.

Cheap no thrills container for storage. Nothing more nothing less
I have several hard drives that I carry around and swap out of networks for back purposes. I needed a dependable, durable, as well as CHEAP way to both protect and transport these bare drives. The item is a very simple cheap plastic shell that basically wraps around the drives. The latch is very thin. I can see that if it was open and closed several times it might wear thin and snap off one day.The product advertises that it is anti-shock. The only protection inside the case are two pieces of foam at the very end of the bottom. Other than that there is no protection. I do not believe this case will provide much protection if dropped from a hight greater than a few inches and, even then, that is pushing it.The fit is very snug and tight. With one of the cases I felt like I was actually having to JAM the drive into the case which is not a good thing. The case, though, does provide protection from natural dust from settling on the drives, the cases are stackable and, if a little bit of moisture was present in the air, these cases would protect the drives from a light drizzle++ CONCLUSION ++The cases are cheap no thrills. They really do not offer much protection but enable better storage abilities to bare drives sitting around. Not recommended for transportation of drives.
