Outstanding Product and Great Price!
This digital microscope is OUTSTANDING and very easy to use. The capability of this little technological tool is awesome and you would have paid several hundred dollars for this capability just few years ago. First off - I read a lot of the negative comments before buying and I attribute almost all of them to operator error, incompetence, or obsolete computer/phone equipment that they tried to connect with the camera. I read through the directions before starting to install the camera and while in need of some editing of the English, they were pretty clear and easy for me to understand. My laptop is a Dell with i5 processor, 8 gig of RAM, and Windows 10. I installed the drivers from the enclosed CD and they worked fine. It is not "Plug and Play", but you simply open the CD folder and click on "autorun.exe" then "setup" and then "install". Pretty easy even for this old guy. There was no need to load the "Dotnetfix" file mentioned in the directions because it is already in Windows 10. A lot of people mentioned the small stand in their negative reviews as being cheap and useless. Again, I believe this is 100% operator error because the stand works just fine. If you set it up correctly the camera is almost vertical in the stand and the camera is between you and the stand base. It DOES NOT tip over if you have it positioned this way. I attached a couple photos of a ballpoint pen and a bug that I took with no additional editing. The software has lots of editing options that I am still exploring. I also recorded a video of the bug as I moved it with a pen. The video file was too large to attach to this review, but this is an incredible capability to be able to shoot video of a microscopic image. Overall, I rate this microscope 5 Stars and plan to buy one for each of my grandchildren since this is truly an incredible scientific tool for a super low price.

This should be called an instrument
This is no toy - it has the sense of professionalism from a high-level microscope manufacturer - not just a camera slapped in an enclose and labeled "microscope". From the magnification steps, focus, depth of field and locating tip to the rotation indentations, this is a very capable device. I was very impressed with its magnification and image ability - it is far better than I expected. The stand is not as bad as most are remarking it as. My first thought was the base needed to be a suction cup, but in use the 'scope likely needs to be moved around so the foam is actually a very suitable in that type of use. Yes, there are times when a suction cup is applicable, but while in use, especially with the locating piece (the clear piece) it is a perfectly functioning stand. (The only thing that can legitimately be criticized, IMO, is the difference in friction between the two different ball and socket joints, and that is a high-detail issue.) The general instructions are very informative and complete, but I had problems with the software on the disc; they were installable from the online version. AMCAP is good and will be my most used software; CoolingTech looks good for annotations and measurement, but I haven't figured out how to use it; I stayed away from Xploview since my anti-virus software didn't like its installation link (I am hoping this is a false-alarm). The included sample card is also very appreciated. Here, one can see that micron-level viewing is possible. If your smartphone or tablet is having problems while using OTG as "transfer error", it is probably a power source issue from the host. My tablet nor phone were able to handle the device, but the tablet could work when I used its power supply cable (not possible with my phone). No problems on the PC. BTW, the convertible USB-A, micro-B (micro USB) is ingenious. The backing from the seller is also very reassuring.

The microscope is worth $20. Pay someone $50 to take the stand off your hands!
Bottom line: This is the same exact camera sold by dozens of sellers on Amazon. I did a fair amount of research on quite a few of them (way more than the $20 purchase was worth), and I personally felt better about this seller than others because of the fact that they at least made their own app for the camera. The other sellers appear to be just warehouses and don't really have an interest in their products. If you have a 3D printer (so you can make your own stand) or can find this camera with a more stable/sturdy stand (one that was designed and engineered intentionally and specifically for this purpose), it's a great purchase. If not, pay more money for a unit with a better stand, because that seemingly unimportant detail makes or breaks this product. Why 4 stars: The microscope itself is more than I would would expect for $20. The image is clear, it can take pictures of a resolution that is appropriate for a camera in this price range (very low resolution compared to digital cameras, but it's $20!), and it is simple to operate. There really isn't much to it or much that can go wrong. I don't use Windows, so I can't comment on the "SNAP" or "ZOOM" button functionality, which the manufacturer makes clear is only available in Windows, but I have had this microscope taking pictures and video from macOS, Linux and Android. It works as advertised on all of those platforms. However, the stand makes it unusable as-is. The stand is too light, too flimsy, and cannot properly hold the camera in place while doing things like adjusting the focus. It's just a bad design. And when you need to focus on something that is fractions of a millimeter in size, having a stand that is not stable makes a camera entirely useless. I made my unit usable by 3D printing a stand and a better focusing mechanism, which were available at Thingiverse. If I did not have a 3D printer, I would either be very frustrated by this unit or I would be returning it to get something with a better stand (at a higher price, I'm sure). Since I do, I was able to make it work perfectly for my needs, and I'm happy about the purchase. Added note: Some of the negative reviews reveal a common confusion about this device. The apparent "zoom" knob is really a "focus" knob and the the magnification level is a product of the camera's distance from the subject. On a standard digital camera, "zoom" causes the lens to move while the device remains stationary. That is not the case with this "zoom" feature - you "zoom" by moving the camera closer to the subject and then use the knob that's labeled "40X - 1000X" to focus. It's confusing that the knob is labeled "40X - 1000X" because that's the focus control!

This microscope is extremely useful for showing details of many objects, without the need to destroy the object. However, prepared objects between slides can be studied as well. Attached a screen copy with S-EYE (the software) connected to the Jiusion USB microscope. You see dried coffee on a plastic slide. The microscope is adjusted to about 1000 times. A disadvantage is that the transparant plastic safety cap at the front of the microscope should be removed first to reach 1000 times.

The device arrived promptly (as expected) and looks pretty good from the get go. Packaging is nice and looks stable. The package includes an instruction manual in multiple languages that guides you through the basic steps go the the system running, which is really easy. Basically you plug it in, install the software (also described in the manual) and that's it. You can start scoping. There's also a microscope calibration card included, I didn't really play around with that and mostly used it to check the zoom and focus. I was surprised by the good and clear image quality I must say. For the low price I did not expect it to be so good. I can honestly recommend this microscope if you're looking for an affordable, yet quality, item.
