Wow. Quiet and powerful fan! Shop no further, this is the one. TL;DR @ bottom
Was in the market for a new tower fan and wanted something a bit quieter but with good flow rate. People swear by Honeywell but my QuietSet has been a piece of trash and tips over if you even look at it wrong. I inherited my Lasko from a roommate and it's a great fan that can really take a beating. Looked at several brands (Dyson TP07, etc. included) and was told the best to look for is something with a DC motor. Dreo is one of few manufacturers (at least on Amazon) that makes a DC-motor tower fan. I primarily use tower fans for sleep but also in my living room if I get warm on the couch. I like the consistent air flow they provide and I generally find them better for cooling my bed and sheets. I also wanted something that you could completely turn the display lights off while sleeping. Some manufacturers have a sleep mode that dims the light but that mode also gradually turns the fan speed down and turns off. Noise isn't a biggie but I wanted something reasonably quieter than my jet-engine Honeywell because I was waking up with literal ear pain from the ruckus. Was deciding between the Dreo Pilot Pro and Pilot Max. I wanted the smart version of the Pilot Max for the Alexa integration but it's not sold on Amazon (only the non-smart version) and is sold out on the Dreo website. Couldn't see the advantage of paying an extra $30 for the Pilot Max over the Pilot Pro so I bought that instead. It's a DC-motor tower fan, 42" height, and good reviews but doesn't seem to have a dimming light button/setting. I thought I'd give it a try anyways and just tape over the display if needed. Setup was very easy. You just snap two pieces together to form the base and you twist it at the base of the tower column and that's it. Plugged the power supply in and turned it on. WOW. At fan speed #5, this thing blows my Honeywell out of the water. Not even close. It even beats my Lasko at delivering a more consistent column of air. Don't expect this thing to be whisper quiet at #5+ but it is a nice improvement over Honeywell QuietSet. Under #5 though this really is very quiet. The remote is very nice as well as it has discrete +/- buttons for fan speeds so you don't have to cycle through each speed until you find the right one. But I was dreading going to sleep that night only to be disappointed by the blinding display... after a few minutes of enjoying the air, I looked up and the lights automatically turn off!!! You don't even have to worry about turning the dumb display lights off! Dreo should update this in the product title/description because I think more people would buy this if they knew the lights auto-dim. So if you want something quiet, especially for your bedroom and sleep time, that dims the light *automatically*, with high flow rate, this is the fan for you. I will be buying a second one for my living room (hopefully the smart Pilot Max) and keeping my Lasko for a backup (it will probably outlive me). TL;DR: Look no further, this fan is a great price and works flawlessly (lights auto-dim completely).

Perfect fan for quiet, clean, coolness. Very compact too!
I live in San Francisco where it's usually cool. But climate change has steadily increased air temperature. I have been using a Hunter desk fan for YEARS. But the temperatures are much higher now and I needed a fan that would cool a larger area. I hesitated in buying the DREO because of plans to move to a place with central air conditioning. SF doesn't even put AC in NEW apartments. Finally after a few hot days I bought the DREO. I had researched it and it was highly rated. All I can say is this fan is awesome. It is so much better than my blade fan. Even on the lowest speed it is moving cool air all throughout my small apartment. It is so quiet and powerful at the same time. I haven't had to go beyond the 5 setting and it is blissfully cool, quiet and so much like central air it's surprising. If anything it is much quieter and cooler than central air. I need cool air at night and really need air to circulate. This fan is perfectly quiet and awesomely superior at maintaining a quiet, cool, temperature whilst I sleep. I set the speed on 4 to sleep and it is much quieter than my Hunter fan. My previous fan is NOT noisy but the DREO is practically soundless at the speed setting of 5 and entirely soundless below a 5. I haven't had to use a higher speed but I did test it all the way up to 12 and with oscillation and the sound is still quite impressively minimal. It is also very easy to clean. The other fan had to be disassembled for cleaning and dust would accumulate making it difficult to maintain. This DREO has a very easy access to the filter for cleaning. So far I have only dusted it, but given its height, quiet power and actual ability to make the air COOL I am very happy with my purchase. It is very slim in its design and quite easy to move if necessary. I love it!

The best fan I have had.
The Dreo Tower Fan is a great way to stay cool for this season. I live on the first floor of a relatively large building. We've been experiencing a lengthy heatwave for nearly ten days, and I just have two window air conditioners working hard to keep things cool. I've also been using a large box fan and an old-school round head, three-blade tower fan to push the cool air from the AC units around the home. It was still relatively warm in my apartment, no matter what configuration I set up for the fans to try to disperse the air around. I've been avoiding doing anything that would contribute to the heat in my houses, such as opening my shades, blow-drying my hair, or cooking. Even with the old tower fan pointing directly at me on high, sleeping has been difficult. With the temperatures rapidly rising and the hot sun beaming for twice as long these days, it's no surprise that almost every room in the house is stuffy and uncomfortable. While it is possible to just switch on the air conditioner all day, this is an expensive luxury that quickly adds up. So I am looking for an alternative. The Dreo Pilot Pro tower fan is quieter (25DB) due to a DC motor, with a power output of only 24W, but it is also very power-saving.The space-saving tower fan provides a continuous breeze that keeps everyone cool, even on hot days. In addition, a handy remote is included, allowing you to control the fan from any place. The floor fan is inherently quiet due to its lack of blades, which reduces surplus noise over time. It also has a large, easy-to-read LED screen that shows the current room temperature, wind speed, and other modes. And it's wonderful for me to have a bright light glowing tonight; once sleep mode is set, the screen will switch off automatically after a few seconds. This is the best replacement for an air conditioner, so I gave it a five-star rating. I could feel the breeze while I sat in the room as if I were on a Caribbean beach with a cool breeze. The remote control is an excellent feature that is simple to use. Additional features include: Timer: When the fan is turned on or off, press the timer button repeatedly to establish a timer ranging from 1 to 12 hours. When the timer expires, the fan will automatically stop and restart. Set the time to 0 hours to cancel. Mute: Use the mute button to toggle the button noises on and off. Memory: If the fan is switched off or disconnected from power, it will revert to its prior settings (except for the timer setting) when turned back on. To summarize, it's been a pretty pleasant experience.

Nice but not perfect, especially for the price..
UPDATE: after my review the company reached out to me. I now have a perfectly quiet fan, I'm totally cool and comfortable and very happy. Good customer service is very important to me and this company gets FIVE STARS from me. Thank you. I love this fan. It is so much better than the typical round oscillating fan. It moves a lot of air. The 9 speeds makes it easy to find the perfect amount of air. It takes up very little space and looks nice. It is nearly silent on the lower fan speeds. High speed is fantastic for when I need to cool down quick. Having a remote control is very convenient. I don't use any of the modes. For over $100 I am disappointed with this product for two reasons: It has begun making a clicking sound as it oscillates. When watching TV I cannot hear it. When reading a book it is annoying. Second, the remote is completely smooth and there is no way to find the buttons by feel in a dark room. This is a major design flaw. I must put on reading glasses and get a flashlight before using the remote. I have 9 remotes within reach of my TV chair and every one of them is made so you can feel the buttons without having to look at the remote. Except for the remote for this fan. The remote is such a convenient feature of the fan and yet hampered by poor design. Nice fan overall but for the money I'm a little let down. Especially with the clicking noise. Now I wonder how long it will last.

Worth spending a little more to get more air flow.
Average joe review. I repeat i am not a paid actor. I write honest reviews. I want to add i’ve tried and retruned ALOT of these types of fans because they all claim they move air. 80% of them are box fans with no good air flow or directional air flow ( you have to have it pointed right at you to feel it) If you are looking to move some air this fan is for you. 1. Does it move air. Yes it does. Goes from 1-12. 1-6 it is quiet. At 6 it moves just enough air. On 10-12 it moves alot of air and it is a bit louder but not overwhelming. 2. How far does it reach. On 12 you can feel it across a decent sized living room. On 6 probably a good size couch to wall away. 3. I bought 3 of them. Keep one in loving room, one in bedroom and one i bought still in box as a backup. We all hate that one product we really like and then it goes out and you can never find it again. 4. The remote is nice but it has to be pointed directly in front of the unit. You can use it across the room but if its osculating then you will have to wait til its pointing at you. I do have 1 con. I don't like the menu settings. They are tiny and hard to see. If it’s on economy mode this thing will shut off. I turned that shhh off. Overall it is a good fan. It is easy to clean. Its tall. It can move alot of air or just enough depending on your likeness. It looks decent enough.

An improvement on an already great fan!
This is the second time we have purchased this fan, with the first one in 2023. The newer one is an improvement in several ways: First, no more separate AC adapter brick. The power supply is now integrated into the fan itself. This did strike me a bit odd with the previous version of the fan, as it was definitely big enough to house the transformer inside of it. Second, the fan speed now goes up to 12 versus 9 on the previous version. This fan can move a LOT of air and, like the previous version, is near dead silent on the lower speeds. Third, the oscillation feature has been further improved and now makes no noise. The older model probably used a synchronous motor for the rotation mechanism, which always had a hum to it. This newer version of the fan is dead silent even when oscillating, which is great for peaceful sleep. I don't know what black magic DREO pulled to fix this, but this is the biggest improvement they made. The bad: If you use the app to control some of the fan functions like I do, both the older and newer version of the fan are off on their temperature calibration by about 7° f. this is adjustable in the app, but it's odd that they haven't fixed this issue in the newer version. The scheduling feature is also available only in the app. If cloud connectivity ever goes down for this product, you will lose that feature. But it's not required for the fan to work. It does include a remote that gives you control of the majority of the functions, so it can be used as a normal fan completely offline if you wish.

Very cooling!
Power through a hot summer with the Dreo Oscillating Tower Fan with Remote. This tower fan features 9 speeds, an adjustable airflow direction and a timer to provide you with cooling control and customized comfort. The oscillating fan head moves from side to side, allowing it to spread cool relief around the room. A remote control is included for easy operation from anywhere in the room and a convenient carry handle makes it easy to transport from room to room. Fans are an essential tool to have in the home. Whether you’re worried about the summer heat or the winter chill, a fan is a must-have piece of technology that comes with a variety of features. Having owned this tower fan for over 3 years I believe I can safely say whether it’s good or not. So, let’s take a deep dive into this fan and see if it’s worth your time, energy or money. The Dreo’s tower fan offer a lot of benefits: They're tall and thin, so they don't take up much space, and they tend to be quieter than window air conditioners or noisy pedestal fans. ● Oscillating head & top-mounted controls allow you to cool off quickly and feel great. ● Our high-velocity, multi-directional fan with a fresh ionized-flow system cools or heats the room naturally, with no noise and minimal energy use. ● The slim design is ideal for smaller rooms, or use it as a secondary fan in the corner of your room while you sleep. ● The 24W DC motor makes for whisper-quiet operation., The Oscillating Tower Fan is a compact, quiet and efficient fan that will keep you cool on hot and humid days. Place the fan in your bedroom, living room or any other area that needs cooling down. It comes with a remote control for easy operation even when you are seated or lying in bed. You can adjust the settings of the fan as well as turn it on and off using the remote control, which makes it convenient to change the settings of your fan without having to get up. It keeps air circulating, so no one area gets too hot. The fan is also quiet when in operation, which means it will not distract you while you work or get some sleep. This fan requires very little energy to operate and has been designed with energy efficiency in mind. It is also lightweight and portable, so you can easily carry it from one room to another if needed. Performance and Use The design is simple yet elegant, and the remote control makes it easy to operate from anywhere within a room. The relatively low height and the oscillation angle are both drawbacks, but they're outweighed by the fact that this is a high quality tower fan at an affordable price. The oscillating feature works well and provides good coverage for my living room (about 400 sq ft). You can also turn off the oscillation feature, if desired. On the highest setting, however, I found that there is some slight wobble in the fan itself. The tower fan is lightweight and made of plastic and while this makes it easy to move around, I suspect this contributes to the slight wobble. It doesn't interfere with functionality - just looks a bit odd. When it comes to noise level, this tower fan is relatively quiet - even on high speed. I'm happy with its performance for home use. Lightweight and Portable My husband and I were looking for a fan that would cool down the room and circulate the air. We wanted one that was lightweight and portable so we could move it from one room to another as needed. We were impressed with how quiet this fan was and how easy it was to assemble. Small but powerful, this tower fan is perfect for personal use or for a small office space. It's lightweight, so it's easy to move from room to room. The remote control makes it convenient to operate, and the oscillating function helps to circulate air throughout a larger area. It's also very quiet and doesn't disturb conversations or phone calls. I've had a few people ask me what kind of fan I have because they want one just like it! Whisper Quiet This is an excellent little fan. It is not very tall, but has a great oscillation feature and can be adjusted to different angles, so it works well as a small room fan. I love the remote control function and the different settings on it. The timer is a great feature as well. It's very quiet, so it can be used in a home office or bedroom without disrupting your work or sleep.

Quiet and Strong
It’s quiet. I don’t really hear the motor itself or any additional sound when I have it oscillating. On faster speeds, I hear the sound of the wind. It’s powerful. I rarely need to run this above level 2 or 3 in my room. There are 9 speeds and at level 9 it is pushing a LOT of air - I will rarely use anything above 5. However, that is a subjective item and your needs may vary. Long distances, very large rooms, high ceilings, heat, etc. could affect your satisfaction with this fan. The height is nice. I’ve had short tower fans before and although the actual outlet for the air doesn’t extend all the way to the top or bottom (as pointed out in other reviews with photos), the height still makes a big difference. I no longer feel the air only at my feet and legs like the 30-inch and 36-inch (76 & 90 cm) models. Controls and remote are easy to use. Take a second to browse the manual and the controls will make sense - oscillation, timer operation, silence the beeps (when buttons are pressed), speed, and mode. The remote works great and has the same controls. The LED display is easy to read from across the room. Safety. It does not wobble during operation but will wobble if pushed. Not enough to tip over but a child might be able to knock it over like they would virtually anything this tall and slim. Exercise caution if you have small children. The slats are narrow but a small child might be able to slip a finger between the slats but they likely would not have long enough fingers to reach the moving parts. Maintenance. I have not had to clean it yet but it appears no more challenging than other tower fan. Vacuuming it regularly and wiping dust from the slats will be required regularly. The instructions do not show a way to disassemble the fan to a point that would make it easier to clean the moving parts. In summary this is a really good fan. It works well and looks great. The operation is quiet and the oscillation covers a wide area. I love the remote and the LED display at the top of the fan that is easy to read. It’s sturdy enough for normal use but parents may want to keep an eye on younger children who could potentially tip it over.

Powerful and effective!
Was looking through several local and global tower fan models. Bought 2, one of them being this Dreo and it was the clear winner in terms of power, ability to move air and ease of use. Great product and service team has also been very responsive through the Dreo app to help diagnose a clicking sound which went away very soon.
