I bought this to attach my phone to the GoPro Karma grip. First, the attachment doesn't come with a bolt. I am not upset about that because the picture nor the description said it did. It would've been nice if it had. The biggest let down is that there is no nut attached to the mount. Therefore, you have to use your own bolt and nut to mount it to anything. Using your fingers to tighten the nut and bolt together doesn't allow you to get it tight enough to hold the mount in place with anything on it such as a phone or GoPro. I have to GoPro wrench for tighten the bolts but now, I have to carry around a wrench to hold the bolt while tightening it. If you use the two wrenches you can tighten it enough to hold it in place. Other than wishing it had the nut as part of the mount, it is a good mount. It seems to be made of good sturdy material and should last me a long time. However, if I find one with a nut as part of the mount I will send this one back and order that one.

Threads were either not machined properly or the metal is too soft. The threads are gone and not it's just a metal rod. My 360 camera is completely toast. I will change this review to five stars if they buy me a new camera. That would show that they stand behind their product.

What's there not to love? It's built very solidly. My ONLY concern is the fact that the threaded portion is also aluminum. I kind of wish the actual screw was stainless steel. Perhaps in a revision, the manufacturer can maintain the same knob design, but inset a stainless steel hex head machine screw. Maybe they didn't do it due to galling, and wanted to prevent a seizing bolt, but I would personally feel more comfortable with a stronger, less malleable material for the screw itself. A tiny drop of machine oil could help prevent seizing. In any case,This one isn't much more than the other plastic versions, and the idea of having aluminum over plastic sold me.

I bought this to use my Gear 360 camera with my GoPro mounts. I tried another product first and ended up with this one. I like the fact that it has a non-slip surface and the mounting screw attaches up through the base. This allows for a real nice/tight fit. It doesn't allow the camera to swivel loose as the other I tried did. I have many different GoPro mounts I tried this on. It "fit" all but one but was real tight on about 1/2 of them. Be aware that you may need to try this on different mounts to get one that truly fits how it should. The arms are cut just ever so slightly bigger than the GoPro branded mounts.

The good:In mine, the fit in the GoPro adapter was OK, definitely snug, but does not stress the mating piece's prongs.The bad:The threads are poor. Very poor. This would have been unusable if I didn't have the ability to re-tap the screw. You can see in the picture the result of re-tapping the screw. It absolutely would not have threaded into my camera without re-tapping it. That said, once I re-tapped it with a 1/4-20 die, it threaded in no problem. So... caveat emptor.The knob is excessively large. It interferes with the range of motion of the GoPro adapter. Given I'm going to put it on a GoPro quick d/c, I'm just going to go to the hardware store and replace it with a 50 cent 1/4-20 bolt to minimize the head size so it doesn't interfere with the range of motion so much. In the end, having to re-tap the screw isn't the end of the world, since I'll be replacing it at the hardware store anyway. The real value is in the fairly unique aluminum plate.I'd still recommend it, the price is a excessive for the QC & finish. But it is metal. And alternatives aren't readily available. If you're locked into the GoPro ecosystem, just be aware you may need a trip to the hardware store to get the full value out of it.

I have no horse in your race.So when I say trust me......you can.If you buy the Sony FDR X3000 you will need one of these. Maybe even two.The GoPro is NOT a better camera. But the mounts for GoPros are impressive.You have the better camera. Don't deprive yourself of a universe of mounting options.

This is the perfect adapter for my particular application. I am recording using an action cam mounted on a 10 foot tripod stand (it is intended for mounting photography lamps/lighting). 90% of the time, I will be indoors at a gym or tennis club, so I don't need the waterproof housing for the action cam. This mount adapter will allow me to affix the camera using a bracket mount and adjust the direction to get the best angle on the action for my pickleball matches. I am also very pleased with the quality. The knob on the bottom of the fixture makes it easy to screw into the camera. The rubber matting on the mounting surface prevents shifting. And the aluminum body makes it strong and light.

I bought this Action Cam Mount Aluminum Conversion Adapter as a suggested accessory for my gimbal. From the box, it has one problem: The 1/4" screw that attaches to the gimbal has a tall handle, that prevents the gimbal from being in the optimal position, parallel to my body. Solution was to use a flathead 1/4" screw, that I had to modify in order to make it work.Now the great thing is that I gave feedback to the seller, who answered immediately, to send me a prototype of a solution for this problem. So yeah, two thumbs up for the product.
