I got this little waterproof book to use as a recipe book that I can keep up on the bar top and get wet. It is worked great for that purpose with minimal smudging. You might want to keep in mind that the paper is waterproof your pen is probably not. I got a 3 pack and I love them. If anything I wish I had more pages!

Yeah, these are pretty flimsy little tiny notebooks, and somehow I find the paper a little more sensitive to some kind of oil-based ball-point cartridges than other R-i-t-Rain notebooks.But it's a convenient size, and I've drenched mine in water thoroughly many times. Some bleeding at the edges with one ink cartridge in ball point, but after experimentation, I found some pens/cartridges that stay fast.I'm only slightly annoyed that when damp, the pages tend to stick together....not a problem, really...you won't tear the leaves except on purpose when separating them....but maybe that is a characteristic of this particular RiTR notebook.

These are great notebooks, exactly as described. I overlooked the details and assumed, wrongly, that these are just like Field Notes or Field Book pocket notebooks. Those are a bit taller and have twice as many pages. These Rite in the Rain notebooks are very compact, even tiny. I love Rite in the Rain products, but these are not what I wanted (again, my fault for not reading the description). They are just smaller and have fewer pages than I expected. That aside, they are terrific, and would do well as a pocket notebook for anyone looking to carry a durable, waterproof, note-taking option.

The notebook that was delivered works great. It survived a camping and fishing trip no problem. The pages are slim to few (24 front to back). If penmanship is huge and scratchy, then there will be a problem of pages running out. Used it as a field guide for camping, taking observations. For fishing we used it to monitor what we brought in per different lake. Use pencil for sure, or a permanent marker.

Libreta de campo… cómoda, cabe en el bolsillo del pantalón sin problema. No todos los bolígrafos escriben en ella. Pero la mayoría si. Son geniales.

3 books it said… they’re no bigger than the palm of my hand so even if I used all 3, that wouldn’t be enough for the amount of notes I take in the field. Not to mention, no room to write because the pages are so small, let alone draw sketches and add annotations. There’s also no graph paper for writing out graphic logs or sketches, it’s only lined. Don’t get me wrong, if you only need something small for a quick note like something you’d put on a post-it then I’d say it’s fantastic but absolutely not what I expected or could use for an entire field trip!
