Very good for the price.
This software offers much value for the money. It is easy to use, compared to other music software packages I've tried. I am of the "old school" - a composer who used to use paper and pencil at the keyboard to write music. Then I used the old programs Professional Composer and Performer at the computer. This software is as easy to use as Professional Composer, with the added advantage no manual effort to place markings such as slurs and articulations and dynamics correctly for printing. Setting up a score is quite straight forward.The software includes a basic orchestra of sounds, (which I had difficulty finding and installing at first), which are of reasonably good quality overall (strings and percussion quite good) with brass sounds questionable at best.For the price, this seems to be the best music software out there

#1 Notation App! Bar none!
I have tried many (10 +) notation apps and Notion 6 is the best. Many of the apps behave odd the way you enter the notes. Some put in rest automatically and it sometimes messes up your score or idea in your head. Notion 6 just allows you to input and alter the notes very simply. Plus it appears to be very optimized. No stuttering on playback, even on large scores with multiple instruments. My pc is aging with Windows 7 32-bit, single core AMD processor, and no where near the ram/memory used now-a-days. So I'm so happy that Presonus still supported it with Notion 6. I just wish the boxed version came with the app and sound library on media disc but I can not complain too much.

cannot open MIDI files
After a very messy installation routine (the worst I have run across in years) I discovered that there is a known problem with importing MIDI files on a Windows 10 computer. This make the program worthless for my application. It seems that this problem has existed for a couple of years which me wonder about the PreSonus company. If you want to import MIDI files, forget PreSonus Notion 6.

Beware! I purchased the Amazon Warehouse version of this product (it was on significant discount) but came opened with a product key that had already been activated.

Birthday without present.
I bought Notion 6. I received the parcel... and the box was empty. No CD !!!I am so disappointed. It was a present from my wife.
