ATP Automotive Y-893 Speedometer Cable

Product pictured in description shows the rubber seal for the firewall - mine did not come with this so I had to re-use the old one. Also it did not arrive with the cable lube as listed in the description. The plastic connector end that attaches to the instrument cluster is much larger than the factory cable, so there's no way it will pass through the hole in the firewall. It is however removable if you pull very hard on it, then you can route the cable through the firewall, and it can be pressed back on after. You may have to adjust the depth (how far the square cable protrudes from the housing) to get it to fit properly. Other than that it is fully functional.

This speedo cable is defective. The outer jacket is much shorter than the inner cable. If you connect the cable to the speedometer and then connect it to the transmission, the plastic coupler at the speedometer end will become disconnected from the cable housing because the inner cable is too long. You cant just cut off the end because the cable end is welded and squared, so if you cut it off it won't be squared to fit the speedometer. I returned this product for a refund.

Works great! I have a 90 geo tracker, and thanks to the comment about popping off the white plastic piece to get it through the firewall, was a relatively easy install!

Worked great, and affordable pricing. It took the needle bounce and growl out of our Sidekick with 180,000 miles on the original cable. Note that if you run the Suzuki Sidekick without a speedo cable, it will throw a check engine code. This will fix that, if the speedo is the cause for your code.
