Launch now!
I picked up Dare To Launch by Anne Cocquyt hoping it would give me all the secret tips and tricks to launching my own business and becoming the next Jeff Bezos. Unfortunately, it turns out that starting a successful business takes a little more work than just reading a book. But don't let my laziness discourage you from picking up this book! Dare To Launch is a really helpful guide for anyone looking to turn their entrepreneurial dreams into reality. Cocquyt provides a ton of practical advice and real-world examples to help you avoid common pitfalls and make your business stand out in a crowded market. One thing that I appreciated about this book is that the author doesn't sugarcoat the challenges of entrepreneurship. She acknowledges that starting a business is hard work, but also emphasizes the potential rewards and fulfillment that come with creating something of your own.In all seriousness I highly recommend Dare To Launch for anyone looking to start their own business. And if you're willing to put in the work and follow Cocquyt's advice, who knows? Maybe you'll be the next Bezos. Or at least the next Zuckerberg.

Great toolkit of basics for those wanting to start or restart an entrepreneurial venture.
Great toolkit of basics for those wanting to start or restart an entrepreneurial venture. I appreciated the practical advice such as what yo do instead of crafting a business plan, and defining of key terms commonly used in the business world. Paired with her expertise in helping women start and grow businesses in Silicon Valley, I found it a highly relevant, and smart yet down to earth read.

It supplements the workbook the author sells on her website
The info in Dare to Launch is helpful and consistent with business courses, but (and it's a big one!) it references information and exercises that are in the workbook in such a way that the book doesn't completely stand alone without the workbook. For example, there aren't enough details in the book about creating your customer persona or applying the happiness scale to their pain points unless you have the workbook which is available through the author's website for at least double the cost of this book. I haven't, as yet, purchased the workbook so I don't know if it actually completes the picture.Otherwise, the information is delivered in in a "can-do" encouraging tone in small bites that make everything feel very "do-able".

Great!
Easy to read due to the formatting. Very useful but felt like they pushed their own GUILD super hard throughout it.

The practical advice you're not taught in Business School
As an entrepreneur, you may have a big vision. We're all on this for a reason (or many). However, the journey is anything but predictable. You may find challenges along the way that you couldn't have predicted in the beginning, so books like these are an incredible resource that makes your entrepreneurial path clearer, more exciting, and more fulfilling. All the practical advice offered her covers what you need to know to start your journey taking more calculated risks, or even when you're far along the way or in the midst of pivoting your own business or career, this advice offers a practical view of the right steps to take. Highly recommended!
