Just what I have been looking for.
I love this product. You DO NOT have to pay $9 a month for THEM to keep your video. It records to a 128Gig SD card. Installation is simple. The Kasa app is very nice. You can draw a square where you want the camera to notice activity. It records audio and video when motion is detected. It erases old video when it runs out of memory. If you have to grab video, on iPhone you can screen record so you can grab what you need to your phone, and send to anyone from there, even police, so easy. When I first installed it. It said the SD card was not the right format. The app kind of froze for a while........it was downloading latest firmware. When that was all done, everything worked great. It comes with an external electronic doorbell as you have to disable your current doorbell. The electronic doorbell has 3 volume levels, much louder than the old fashioned bell we had. It has 8 different ringtones. I did have to buy an $80 Netgear WIFI booster as out router is in a room in the back part of the house and the doorbell is at the front door. Even thought my phone shows 5 full bars, the video camera wasn't getting wifi. Once the WIFI booster was "WPS" synced to the router (push the button on each device) it all worked. When you monitor the video feed, you can hear audio from the outside. Using the app, you can use your phone to talk to the person at your front door. The audio is loud and clear. I have 2 KASA wall switches that turn on the lights to the front and rear doors in to the house. I have 2 KASA lights that use the app. You can change color and brightness. I have 4 KASA smart outlets, when Christmas comes, the app turns on all the Christmas lites in the house a the same time. I am in heaven. 1 app for everything with NO MONTHLY FEE. This is working for me. I hope it works for you too. I might buy a cheap small tablet that can be set to monitor the video at the front door all day.

Great Smart Doorbell
This doorbell camera is fantastic! The picture quality is crystal clear with the 2K resolution, and the night vision works surprisingly well. I love the two-way audio feature—it’s super convenient to talk to visitors without opening the door. Here’s what made the installation and setup easy:1. Hardwiring Tip: Make sure your existing doorbell wiring is compatible. I had to double-check mine, but once I confirmed, it was easy to install.2. Follow the App: The app walks you through the setup step by step, from connecting to Wi-Fi to testing the doorbell.3. Storage Options: I went with the SD card option to avoid cloud subscription fees—it’s great to have both choices. It integrates well with Alexa, and the notifications are instant. Highly recommend this if you want a reliable and affordable smart doorbell!"

Great stand alone doorbell
I'm a big fan of Kasa smart home items. The build is well done and looks great. The wideness of the camera allows for a very big viewing area. I didn't have any lag with my wifi. I got this to be able to have 24/7 recording without a subscription. Just put a sd card in and you are good to go!Installing was simple with their guide and their step by step instructions on the app and paper copy.My only issue with this doorbell is it does not work well with my google nest speaker and google home app. So I had to return it. If you don't use google home this is a great stand alone doorbell. I think it might work better with amazon echos but I recommended looking up videos before buying.

Great features for the price
This is my first smart doorbell, so I can't personally compare it to any others. But I did do a lot of comparison shopping before I bought it, and I'm very pleased. While other doorbells seem like they are pretty restricted without paying the monthly fee, the Kasa doorbell really only loses the ability to store long-term history, which I can live without. It's not like a few dollars a month would kill me, but I just don't like getting roped into ANOTHER subscription if I can avoid it. To that end, the local video storage is great. Setting the video quality to 720p, I can get about two weeks of nonstop video monitoring. Once the card is full, the oldest videos are deleted. It works great. My only wish is for it to accept larger micro SD cards. The higher resolutions would fill up the card very quickly. The build quality feels good, and it has been rained on during more severe storms a few times without any issue. The Kasa app works fine. My biggest complaint is, when you get a notification, it takes a minute or two for it to show up on your timeline, so you end up scrubbing around trying to find the activity that just occurred. That's an app issues. Maybe it will be addressed someday. Also pleased with the notification options. When I first got it, I was getting flooded with notifications, but I've dialed in the activity zone and sensitivity so that I get not too many unnecessary alerts. They still occur, but it's an acceptable amount.Extremely pleased with my purchase, and it looks quite nice on my home. When someone walks up, the ring around the button lights up. The installation is a little involved, but it does a decent job walking you through the steps. Obviously much easier if you already have an existing wired doorbell. Highly recommend this doorbell.
