This kit is excellent! Even as an adult, I loved making the different soaps. The instructions were so clear and easy to follow. This would be great for a school break project, a rainy day, or even a sleepover party.There are enough soap pieces included to make the 12 different soaps. You take the jug, and you melt 12 pieces of soap for 30 seconds. Each round of 12 pieces makes 2 different soaps - give or take. Some of the molds are bigger than others, but they always seemed to even out, so I ended up with 12 nice soaps, even when I had to mix colors a little bit.The nice thing is that the soap does layer nicely, especially when you let it cool and dry before adding the next layer. I wish I would have done this more to make rainbow soap, but my sparkly, brightly colored soaps look nice, too.It's such a nice touch to add the colors (which are very mixable for other shades, as well), the scents, and the glitter. Each soap I made looked truly different, which I loved. I would definitely consider giving these soaps as little gifts, and the set overall would make for a super fun gift! I think the price is reasonable, and it's better to have an experience gift more than a toy that gets thrown to the back of a closet and never used again.I highly recommend this kit. It's easy and fun, and it's pretty fast. Nothing was frustrating. All of the tools were well-made and high-quality. I can easily buy more soap and reuse the colors, scents, molds, glitter, etc. Now that I have the kit, the possibilities are endless!

I used this soap making kit with my 2 nieces aged 6 and 8. We had a blast! We made soap using several combinations of the included 3 colors, 2 scents and 2 types of glitter. The molds provided lots of pretty options for shapes. The soaps hardened in the freezer after about 2 hours. You really have to put a lot of the scent drops in for it to smell like anything other than plain soap. In the first batch we only put in about 8 drops of scent for 3 soaps. These only smelled like soap. On the second batch we put in 3 long squirts of each of the 2 types of scent and these soaps had a very faint chocolate scent. I would recommend this for a fun kid project but not if you are serious about the scent. The pictures are of the soaps we made that have been used for about a month.

I got this set on a lightning deal for my son for Christmas. It’s a super cute set that has 2 scents and 3 primary colors so u can make whatever colors you want. We had a blast making this soap and i can’t wait till i see another deal on a soap making kit since it’s one craft my son enjoys doing! My son is 5 and did amazing doing the kid himself, from counting out the base soap pieces, to the colors, to the scent to the pouring in the molds. Def a super nice kit for kids

This is a very fun and cute idea and my kids and I did this together. The directions are very simple and easy to follow. All of the necessary materials are included in the box. Getting all of this laid out and ready to use is simple and would seem simple to move forward. However, and this could be just awkward me, the rest of this was aggravating. Microwaving the 12 soap pieces caused a mess inside the microwave (even with it covered). The melted 12 pieces didn’t go a long way and barely created two pieces of soap. Then it was time to rinse and restart to make more. This time, I tried to microwave for less time to try to prevent the mess. This created a situation where the soap tried to harden too quickly, which resulted in the stirrer coming apart (it wasn’t put together very well, in the first place, so ti coming apart was going to happen regardless).It took about two hours for the soap to dry. The bottom part, which is the part you see while it dries, dries looking messy with bubble looking areas. However, pulling the soap out, it does have a beautiful end result that you would expect.Overall, this is a great idea. My issues with this product is that the soap creation kit doesn’t make it very far, it takes too much time to make more than a couple of pieces of soap, and it winds up becoming more frustrating than fun. This could all just be me and something I am doing wrong, but it is my personal experience.

This kit is so easy to do with kids. The instructions were easy... Just melt the soap, add the optional add ins like color, scent, glitter, then cool it down. It's fun for the kids to do and relatively no mess. There are two types of soap, a white one that makes soaps that are opaque and a translucent soap base. We had fun making layered soap by letting a layer cool and adding a second different color layer on top. This is a super fun kit that would be great for a rainy day activity or, perhaps, a sleepover. The kit comes with everything you need - from soap base and colors to scents and molds. It includes easy to follow directions and pre-teens should have no trouble following them on their own. Our daughter loved the idea of "layered" soaps and experimented with different colors, she was pleased with the end results, but wishes there was more of the soap base included so she could make more.The final result is really cute! Our daughter plans to add some of the soaps she made to Easter baskets for her cousins.
