no the head is not removable, its a single unit all together.

Is it able to take load of insta360 with selfie stick? I have heard it does not hold the weight.

It's very strong, I used it with a selfie stick on my bike and it worked well. I even used it with DSLR camera (not on bike). Just make sure your selfie stick is strong enough.
