This product works
I have a step through E bike and had to transport it. After going through what seemed like hundreds of other product options I decided on buying this along woth a conventional Allen trunk mounted bike rack I must admit I was worried at first because my E bike is at least 60 pounds. But this did the job and came out unscathed. I would recommend

This bar allows you to secure your bike to the rack without having to clamp on to the bike itself and scratch the paint. It’s inter spring keeps the clamp secure and puts pressure at the handle bars and seat post to safetly and securely hold the bike to the rack…

Loop end bend down durning first use.
Not strong enough to hold my bicycle. The loop end of the bike bar adapter bent down with the weight of the bicycle. And it will no longer mate up with the swinging / latching bar. My bike weight was well below the advertised weight limit for the adaptor bar.
