Solid bit of kit. Good quality brass construction with a brass nut, feels built to last. Fitted nicely without any hassle and looks smart—really tidies up the basin. Washers are decent, but it’s always good to use a bit of Plumbers Mait or silicone just to be safe. The clicker action is smooth and overall, does the job well and looks the part. Can't go wrong with this and much cheaper than from the big tools shops

Replaced existing clicker waste whose spring had failed. Fitted well to standard basin waste

This was bought to replace an expensive one that only lasted a couple of years, after which the internal metal strainer component, which is part of the plug and waste system, deteriorated and disintegrated. This one was very easy to fit and it did not leak at all. I was pleasantly surprised that there were not even any small leaks, due to the precise size and thread tolerances. The washers provided were absolutely perfect, eliminating the need for things like, say, plumber's putty. Despite the above, I gave it 4 stars, instead of 5, due to one minor issue; drainage is rather slow, causing the sink to fill up even when the plug is open. I haven't tried to fix this issue yet, but it seems that the black washer, intended to restrict water flow when the plug is closed, might be the culprit. It isn't currently a major issue because, although the sink fills when the plug is open, it fills rather slowly. I will still have look at fixing this issue in a couple days though.

I replaced my old pop up waste as after only around a year it had stopped clicking open and became stuck often, there was also a trap for dirt just below the clicker and water wasn't draining fast. Upon removing I began searching for one with a solution the issue and came across this which claims the top can be removed by turning counter clockwise (not tested yet) and this in theory making it easy to clean below when needed. The general appearance was above expectations, the silver head is about double the size I expected and adds to it's premium look though the real test will be how long it lasts as I am very sceptic about that, if I get 4-5 years I will be happy and halfway to the manufacturers claimed 10 year guarantee... As for fitting it was very simple, I simply screwed it into place using my hands (with a cloth to tighten) holding the top and bottom simultaneously, I wanted to tighten with some wide grips but didn't have any at the time, I have since borrowed some but have left it as it's fine and note the manufacturer does warn against over-tightening... The thread and the nut are both mettle which was a big plus for me. Finally, there are YT videos of plumbers using plumbers mait under the upturned flange that seals to the bottom of the sink, this is a cheap enough product (around £4) and will fill the threads if any leak is experienced though from my own experience I would suggest this could also be due to over tightening as it seems that is unnecessary, mine is as tight as I could get it with my hands and a cloth, a small pinch with some grips would likely be about right if you have some to hand (I believe they are called slotted grips, the type I have acquired from the partners father, Ok i will give them back one day...)
