So.. I just received mine yesterday and was excited to install it, and quickly discovered that it will not work in my car!...if your rear view mirror is very rounded at the back and extends closely to the windshield you won't be able to get it on...

I wish it had a lock so the holder on top won't slide off. It's useful but it slip off on a bumpy roads. Your phone will be flying off including the rear view mirror grip will falling off. Needs a little more grip

I got this to replace my CD slot mount phone holder because:1) I have to remove the phone holder whenever I need to eject and replace the CD, which is not that big of a deal as I don't listen to CD that often these days, but2) The phone mount keeps moving and falling off because it can't get a good grip on the CD slotThis rearview mirror mount is actually the best phone mount that I have ever seen so far. I tried dashboard mount with sticky and air suction as well as air vent mount but they all had short comings and blocked the AC/heat or driving view. This is by far the best design as it doesn't block the air vent or the driving view, and I can glance at the rearview mirror while looking at my phone for the GPS direction.It was very easy to mount on the rearview mirror and very secure. I can extend the bar and drop down the phone holder lower if needed and also swing to the left or right next to the rearview mirror, which is really cool design in case this phone holder is in the way of something for certain car models. If you are looking for a smartphone holder, look no further. This is the one to get. Easily 10 out of 5 stars!

I've gone through several phone mount/holders through the years, and this design is actually pretty good.Last one I had like this design had TOO MUCH "squeeze" pressure on the sides, which made it hard to even open to insert the phone - and if not really careful in positioning the phone just right - would wind up pressing either the volume or power buttons while you're driving.This design is much better.
