A good buy
This is the third clock of this brand that w'eve owned over the years and they have been exceptional performers. The dimmable full face lighting is pleasing and the contrast between the face and hands makes it easy to read at night. The three double AA batteries last a good long time and the body of the clock is substantial and well made.

3 REALLY GREAT FEATURES! I would have given 5 stars if it was truly silent. UPDATED 6/15/22
Sadly this clock is not silent, but I did give it four enthusiastic stars because of these four features: (1) The numbers and the hands are easy to read from a distance. (2) the lighted dial is adjustable, so you can turn the light off or turn it up incrementally to quite bright. We keep the light on low- enough light for our grandson to read the clock in the dark so he does not wake us up to find out if it is time to get up yet (we get up at 6:30 am when it is still dark here) (3) if you choose not to have the dial lighted at all, it has the option of a button on top of the clock which you can press and a nice blue backlight comes on so you can see what time it is. 4) the alarm starts off quietly and if you do not hit the snooze button the alarm increases exponential with increased speed of beeps and volume! you cannot ignore this alarm! 5) Sits nicely on the windowsill. My grandson loves it and has learned to read time thanks to this little clock.. WE would have sent it back for a truly silent one, but my grandson does not mind the sound. UPDATE ON 6/15/22: Sadly this clock failed us a few months ago when we could no longer turn off the alarm without either moving the alarm hand to another hour ( which means it would just go off again at that hour) or pulling the batteries out. Sigh. We did not have a tiny screw driver long enough to reach the lower screws to open it up and see if we could repair it ourselves, and the upper screws which we could reach, the first one was already stripped. So even though we considered it a great clock and had all the features we wanted (except that it was not silent as advertised), it did not last very long.

MODS I Made To My Clock - Now MUCH Better!!!
It's CrAzY how finding a good decent battery operated Clock of the right size for your bedroom can be today! So I came to Amazon and ordered many clocks and it came down to this one but it had flaws so I made some MODS to mine and now it is Flawless and PERFECT for my needs. (Read on)I loved this Clock so much BUT when I woke up late at night and pressed the top LIGHT button to see the time, the BLUE LED clock light was SO BRIGHT it would Blind me! (As many reviews had commented). Also I like my room pitch black with NO lights and I could NOT turn off the Green LED Backlight no matter how low you adjusted the variable control on the rear. SO being an electronics repairman here is the MODS I made to my clock to make the BLUE LED go from 100% bright to about 20% (Just perfect @ night) and a rear switch to cut OFF the Green Backlights.I took the clock apart (See Photos) I located the 2 Orange wires which are for the BLUE LED and I placed in a 1.2k ohm resistor in series. At first I used a 1K ohm resistor but still was just a tad too bright, so I changed it to a 1.2K ohm and it is PERFECT for viewing @ night without blinding me!Now I wanted to get rid of the green LED backlights but still allow myself to turn them back on and adjust them should I desire to use this feature. So I located the white LED-G wire (G for green backlight) and removed the wire and installed a small On/Off switch on the rear of my clock. Now I can TURN ON/OFF the annoying green backlights at night and keep my room completely dark. If I desire to use this feature I can turn it back on at the throw of a switch and control the brightness. You can see an image of the BLUE LED brightness in a totally dark room. It is SO MUCH LESS BRIGHT and does not hurt your eyes at all in the middle of the night! NOW I TOTALLY LOVE THIS CLOCK!!!! Some reviews have said the lifespan may be short, well I ordered a backup and have done the same MODS to it and have it so when down the road I still have my PERFECT Bedroom analog battery Clock.

STOPS RUNNING without warning
I purchased this alarm clock for its great features of a large face, night light and pleasant alarm. All these features are meaningless if the clock suddenly stops. This is the case with this clock. It REPEATEDLY stops on it's own. There is a defect with the battery compartment and it loses power - WHENEVER AND CONTINUALLY.Were it just my clock, i could understand, however I bought the same clock for a friend and it does the same thing. Go elsewhere for a reliable clock.

Lacrosse quartz alarm clock info
This alarm clock by Lacrosse appears to be exactly the same as the Elgin model 3675E. I had two of the Elgin's, but one died after a year of abuse including being dropped on a concrete floor. The other just keeps chugging along. I compared the Lacrosse clock closely to the Elgin clock and they appear to be exactly the same, except for the "Equity" label on the Lacrosse clock.A few observations:1. The light is blue, despite what the picture and packaging show.2. The clock is virtually silent. You have to hold it next to your ear to hear it working.3. The clock is accurate. It gains one minute a month.4. Battery life is heavily dependent on the illumination of the face. My surviving Elgin clock goes 6+ months on a set of 3 AA batteries without any illumination. The Lacrosse goes 3+ months with the face slightly illuminated.5. The alarm starts off with a polite beep, then goes to screaming if you ignore it.The clock is not fancy, but it is easy to read and reliable. The only minus in my experience is the battery life.

A great little clock
This bedside clock does exactly what I wanted one to do.. It's just the right size, well made for the price, good looking, accurate, and it illuminates so I can see the time without having to push a button on top. Although it has that feature too. I bought second one for my city place too.
