I love straws. And in particular I love these Softy straws, which I have been using for about 6 months now. When I first gave up plastic straws to save the planet and my health (BPA is not healthy), I tried stainless steel straws. But those got too hot when I drink hot beverages, and they posed a risk to my teeth because I often sip while walking. Having paid $200 to fix a chipped front tooth (no a straw didn’t do it), I had no wish to risk my teeth any longer with metal straws. Then I found these silicone straws and they succeed in every category. They are pleasant to use (leaving no funny taste — you just taste the beverage), and they can be re-used over and over and over (saving the planet). While they are soft (thus, protecting the teeth) and bend as needed, they are also stiff enough that they are easy to push through the hole in the lid of a travel cup. The colors turned out to be cute. And since tea and coffee do not stain the straws, the colors remain attractive and happy looking even after a lot of use. The special squeegee that comes with the straws works really well. Straw lovers know that it's hard to feel confident that the straws are really clean: but the squeegee makes the straws easy to clean. Straws are not easy to get confidently clean, but the squeegee makes the straws easy to clean and alleviates concerns about weird bacteria growing inside the straw. WAIT, there’s more. The customer service is amazing. I know because I contacted the company about acquiring a replacement squeegee when mine got lost. The company responded that day or the next day. And a couple days after that, my new squeegees arrived. Softy straws are so wonderful that I have ordered the other size for myself too plus a set for my sister. I think that covers it. Now it’s time for a beverage.

If you have a kid that isn't 100% ready to drink out of an adult cup yet, what's worse than forgetting your kid's water bottle/sippy cup while out and about? Pairing it with restaurants or drinks that don't have straws. That's why I decided to get these silicone straws and keep a couple always handy in my diaper bag/mom bag. They have been fantastic! Kiddo loves the bendable/biteable nature of the silicone, and on my end, they are super easy to clean using the provided cleaning tool (the tool is genius, really). I love that they aren't plastic and I've used and washed them dozens of times now without any issue.

The media could not be loaded. Great reusable straws! Nice and flexible. Perfect for use in standard glasses at home or they work perfect in the reduce 14oz and all of my 20oz tumblers. They’re foldable so you could take them with you in your purse if you wanted to. The cleaning wand is very easy and straight forward. I haven’t noticed any different taste to my drinks while using them and they’re just as easy to drink from as disposable straws. My kids and I use them without any problem. They also seem very durable. I chew on my straws and so far I haven’t noticed any damage from it. My kids also really like the bright colors

Of the 3 types of straws by this brand I like the large ones best. They are thick and hardy. They have a slight bend in the neck structured in, which I like. These ones are thinner of course, but not just the hole size. The straw itself feels MUCH more flimsy. I'm not as convinced that it won't get a puncture or tear within the next few months. That being said the cleaning tool is AMAZING! It's easy to use and helps clean up after a smoothie that's been sitting in the fridge overnight...children, ugh...The one thing to note though is that I HIGHLY recommend boiling them before use. There was a lot of...stuff...that came off in the boil, so I ran them through the dishwasher after that initial boil just to be sure. There was a strong factory smell before washing but afterwards I haven't smelled anything, and there's not taste to these either. They are great straws. And the colors are super fun. I'd definitely buy them again after I see what the long term durability is.

if you like to bite or chew your straws, then ABSOLUTELY get these. i genuinely can't recommend them enough. i've always bitten my straws when drinking for a number of reasons, and these straws have gone through some serious chewing since i got them - and not a SINGLE mark on them, even with daily usei've honestly just gone and gnawed on the straws from time to time because they feel nice to chew, without needing to worry about them being damaged by it. i repeat my earlier statement: i genuinely cannot recommend these straws enough. and the cleaning tool does an AMAZING job of pulling anything and everything out from the inside of the strawsthe only thing i could even think of that might be an issue for some people is that they're standard-length straws, so for some people, it might not be long enough for their purposes. but other than that, if you need some reusable straws and don't want a hard plastic straw or a metal straw, ABSOLUTELY grab a set of these straws

Update: 2 years later, and we STILL love our softy straws. We love them so much, that I ordered more to have a few extra available to use. We still have and use the straws from our original order of Softy Straws.Original Review:I spent a long time googling and going from website to website trying to find a straw I could trust for my children and that would help us reduce our plastic waste.Softy Straws checked all the boxes. These straws are tested and certified, and they pass the home pinch test too :). They don't have a weird smell like a lot of the reusable straws do, and they don't taste like anything.We have put these straws through the wringer. We've had them for over a month now. My four year old is a chewer and a puller, and these straws still look and perform like new. No cracks, no dings, nothing.We liked these straws so much, we came back and also purchased the smoothy straws. Spoiler alert: those are great too. If you haven't purchased those, or are on the fence, they're also great, and they hold up to the suction of drinking smoothies and milkshakes.Thank you softy straw for working hard to make a safe, quality product.

My son won't drink unless it's through a straw, 9yr olds!?, But they have to be plastic, won't touch paper ones. Since plastic straws will go the way of the dodo, these fit the bill wonderfully. Bright colours, unlimited usability and delivered asap. Getting some more just in case.

As a disabled person, I rely on straws to enable me to take in fluids. I've even used them for hot drinks!!!

Really great straws! They don’t feel funny in your mouth, they are great! Really colourful. Used loads.
