Q: how many seeds should you use 1/4 cup? 2 tbs? is it for both micro greens and sprouts? where to you recommend purchasing seeds?

You can use an average of 7 grams/1 tablespoon of middle sized seeds.

Q: Bad smell. Now I know that my grow light was too close and made the water warm and the bad smell. Raising the lamp fixed the problem. ?

A bad smell will only occur when the seeds are contaminated or of poorer quality. Rinsing the seeds prior to sowing should help limit this problem. Please also disinfect the MicroPod thoroughly prior to sowing. LED light has none to a negligible effect on the temperature of the water.

Yes, it works great with wheatgrass.
