Buy it, you wont regret it
This machine is awesome, I painted the exterior of my home and garage quickly. I dont think it was designed for such a big job but it worked great for me. I hate painting but this sprayer makes it kind of fun. A few tips that helped me , if the sprayer keeps sputtering and wont spray check the filter screen, its clogged with paint film. What I started doing was wiping it with my finger at each refill. Another thing is if it is spraying fine but you can see big droplets on the surface you're painting check the blue tip shield. Paint builds up after a little and blocks the spray pattern which causes those paint globs. Also I noticed that after cleaning it some water remains in the sprayer so when you go to use it again that little bit of water thins out the paint which cause air to get back in to the cup a little easier and it will drive you crazy. It will work normal again after that little bit of water gets flushed out while painting. What I started doing was tapping the trigger on the sprayer a few times to try and pump out as much water as possible before attaching the cup of paint. The most important thing is cleaning the gun. I didnt want dried up paint clogging up the pump so what I would do is turn the sprayer upside down and pour water from my water hose directly into the inlet of the sprayer and pull the trigger until the water came out clear. I would do that on both spray and prime settings. Using a tooth brush to clean all the little attachments helps a lot. I'm done spraying my house and the sprayer is still working great, I'm not sure if its because the care I take in to cleaning it but I'm sure that's helping. I bought a good quality exterior paint from HD that has a primer already mixed in so it was pretty thick and I sprayed it with the pressure setting at 3 1/2 and that worked great, no need to thin down. I would say the one and only downside to this sprayer is the small 32oz cup. I had to stop and refill a lot!! So a bigger cup would be nice but the sprayer made the job so much easier it wasnt to big of a deal.

Amazing spray gun
I bought this spray gun to shoot the 72 inch wainscoting that I built into my master bath remodel. It did not disappoint. I did use the tip it came with, which is for a 12 inch pattern. While I had a large area to do, that tip would seem to be overly large, but in the end, did a really nice job (I bought a 6 inch tip that didn't do as well). I did use a very high end Benjamin Moore semi gloss latex paint, and the spray finish was superb. No runs with the 12 inch tip, but again - it is wide and I did mask off the walls and floor. It does take some time to clean after use - and is best done with a garden hose so you can keep running water into the cup to spray through it to clean it. The dewalt battery is a plus as I have those already for my drills and a 6 inch battery dewalt circular saw. Amazing gun. Of note - this is a higher grade gun than the one's sold at the local retail home improvement stores. Read the Graco reviews on the differences. That is why I bought this model.

Defective product!!
I have been a painter for over 20 years, but never embarked on a job using a sprayer. This one came highly recommended so I was excited to use it for repainting my kitchen cabinets. I thought it would make the job so much easier! Well, it did nothing but!! Prior to use, I watched several instructional videos and read the entire manual. When all prep was complete, I started in! After only a couple of minutes of use, the motor shut off. I though perhaps it was clogged, nope! Maybe I didn’t shut it tight enough or the threads weren't lined up properly…no again! Or maybe I didn’t squeeze out all of the air, so I checked again to make sure. Every few moments the motor would shut off only to find there was a substantial amount of air in the flex liner each time. After hours and hours of use and continually having to evacuate more air at the Vacu Valve, I finished the primer coat. Once I cleaned the entire sprayer of remaining paint, I discovered It wasn't sealing properly at the site where the cup cover and cup support connect causing air to seep in which shut off the motor. Imagine my disappointment spending so much money on this product and so much time only to have completed the primer coat!!!

Sprays beautifully everytime!
I have had this for a few months now. Sprayed my entire kitchen cabinets and some furniture i was refinishing. This sprayer is well worth the money, even though it costs an arm and a leg. I could not get a consistent smooth coat on fine projects before unless I was rattle canning it. It is a pain in the butt to clean, but so is using a roller and brush so it evens out since it works amazing. I have put it away and taken it back out several times, flushed it with fresh water and loaded up paint and it works flawlessly. Make sure you clean it very well after the job and im confident this thing is going to last me until im very old.

Best small job sprayer
This sprayer is the best spray gun I have ever used. It sprays smoothly and very easy to clean up. I’ve used industrial sprayers and many other types. This is by far my favorite. If you do large projects and need your symphony in a 5 gallon bucket then this is not for you. I’ve used it to spray a deck and will use it to touch up my fence repairs on the farm. It would have been too small and required too many refills to do a fence that covers large acreage but it’s perfect most household jobs

WOW, worth every penny.....
I don't usually write reviews... but this time is different. I tend to buy high end tools, better value in the long run. Somehow got in my mind to buy the Graco airless. Was pricey, had buyers remorse for some time thinking I spent too much for a tool I had yet to use... and then.... We needed a new shed. Almost bought one but we would have had to take down some trees to get a purchased one in place, etc... . Added plus, got to buy some new tools along the way, like a bostitch roofing nailer, also flawless.... Anyway, sided the shed with the more expensive T-111 siding. Took out the Graco and started spraying the Sherwin Williams solid stain.... I let the Mrs use the sprayer and I followed with a small roller for the times when she didn't move the gun fast enough. We painted the 12x16 shed two coats in a couple hours... wow.... Was a hot day so the stain was dry by the time we got around to the other side. As a comparison, at one point we had to piece in a 2'x8' T-111 on a corner. Tried to paint it with a roller... took forever. The T-111 siding is rather rough so just didn't go well. Seemed to use too much stain, took too much effort to get the stain into the rough surface... and it didn't get as good results. Repainted it with the sprayer... This sprayer is the best. Now use it for other various painting jobs... wow... great purchase. Conclusion: they could charge twice as much for the Graco and it would still be worth it... TIPS: keep the gun moving... it shoots quite a bit of paint (stain,etc).... And just make sure that you spend the time to clean it well after each use. Take the time.... Not sure if you are supposed to do this but I put the garden hose into the bottom pump opening and just spray the water through. I end the cleaning process by spraying a good amount of the pump armor through it. Turn the gun upside down and pour the pump armor into the pump with the pump on... You can buy a quart for a reasonable amount and should help to keep the pump working well.

Not worth $700 - wish I could send it back!
I would expect better for the money spent. If I could send it back and get my money back - I would! It was fairly easy to set up and get going - I had to watch a youtube video from Graco to get the sprayer ready. If you do not tighten the paint reservoir really tight it will leak air and not work properly. The painter stops spraying a mist all the time and you have to reverse the nozzle or try to remove any air from the paint container. Count on using about 10 to 20% more paint than what the job requires. The cleanup is not as easy as presented in the tutorials. I had to run water over and over again to clean the pumps. Then you have to take it apart and clean all the pieces again by hand. Finally you have to add pump guard to the pumps and then store it. It takes me well over 45 minutes just to clean the sprayer. I got the sprayer out again after a couple of days to do a second coat on a project and when priming the system with paint, the blue pump guard solution was sent into the paint reservoir. I had to take it apart and dump about a quart of paint into the garbage and try it again. I have no idea how to prime the sprayer without getting the pump guard solution into the paint because you are not supposed to run it dry for more than a few sec. The spray quality was ok but it was not as good as a regular HPLV sprayer with a hose and compressor. It is a little heavy - if you are going to spray for a long time, your hand, arm and wrist will get tired! Just know these limitations before buying this unit.

Works like a champ
Great tool, and to be honest I almost didn't buy it after reading some of the negative reviews here. I don't want to spend almost $ 600 for a troublesome tool! However after using it I pretty much think that some of the reviewers never bothered to read the manual or misunderstood the directions. Use it and prepare it as it says to, and it shoots paint quickly, accurately and the finish is great. Cleanup procedures as specific, be sure to follow them. The only negative is that is with the tip supplied, it applies way too much material very quickly, those reviewers that say to get a smaller bore tip are absolutely correct. I went through a quart of paint spraying this bench in less than two minutes! Other than that, very happy with it and I see it will be getting a lot of use around my home.

This is not "Graco Ultra Max" But "Graco Ultra"
I have purchased this product. 1) This is not the product I ordered. In the title its mentioned "Graco Ultra Max Cordless Airless Handheld Paint Sprayer 17P258" But its "Graco Ultra". 2) Second thing in photo battery is 20V but in reality they shipped 18V. 3) If you want to return you have to pay for it. 4) Seal of the packed box was open and there was liquid in the cup.
