Every student should read atleast once
This is an excellent book for all the science enthusiasts. Especially students of high school class should read once. Basic science from cosmology to biology explained in simple language.

Kind of magical
I'm not going to compare it to other books and say it's good or could be better etc. But it itself is a good read, a quite amazing one, the author has splendidly explained the myths and the real science and showed us how real world is far more magical than the silly myths, supernatural and religious stories. Sometimes we know this but forget the true wonders of nature, the author reminds us of that, and when I read it, I look outside and is filled with awe that simple things like trees and insect and weather which we take for granted, are no less than wonders of their own!

Another masterpiece from Dawkins!
A perfect book for studying scientific facts and myths and how they shape our world. Easy to read and anyone can enjoy it, whether from science background or not. A must read for young children to develop critical thinking and also for adults who believe things too easily than to look for facts.

A must read for unconditioned kids, and conditioned adults too
This book will make you question your own conditioned mind, help you unlearn your biases, and strengthen your quest for the 'real magic'- the magic of reality!

Bad papet quality
I wanted to give 1 star given the book's poor paper quality. The rest of two are for the content which is top notch. But the paper makes it feel like it was sourced from Fort and not really Random House.

Great book. Smaller in size than expected
This book gives proper evidence based clarity on our evolution process while destroying the myths of belief systems. Every example given in this book is filled with proper scientific backing.

The magic to reality is actually the 'reality of magic.'
The magic to reality is actually the 'reality of magic.' Richard Dawkins has woven a rich collection of myths which are then busted with facts.Must appreciate the story telling ability of the author. The books raise some serious questions on the fables from across the world. He is particularly harsh on the old Jewish traditions but perhaps they are just so universal. While some of his facts were too astonishing to accept. One for instance is that our shared ancestor is a fish. Fish! The old bearded uncle Darwin suddenly looks saner. While the book achieved to pose serious questions to the very beliefs and miracles, it fails when it tried to reason their non - occurrences. Dawkins is good when explaining known and proven scientific research but fails spectacularly when doing so to debunk faith.

A beautiful book.
I had already read the paperback, when I came to know of this beautiful illustrated version. Even though I'd already read it, I bought this one! If you've always been interested in how things work, and the logical, scientific (but very simply explained!) reasons behind why things happen/exist (earthquakes, rainbows, where we come from, what the world is made of...), then this book will help you learn and understand a lot of how the world works. Even if you already know some of these things, this book will strengthen your understanding and greatly enhance the clarity of your concepts. It's a loooooot of fun to read, with beautiful illustrations that make it a great read for younger audiences, but though the language and writing style has been kept simple, it doesn't diminish the experience for older readers, at all!

The son of The Haunted Demon World
Even if this book is intended for the general public with an interest in science (newbees if you want), it is a very enjoyable reading even for those who are really into science and research. I felt like like de prequel of Sagan's "A Demon Haunted World".

Another Great Insight into Reality
Why is reality so hard to see for the billions of us on this planet? Religion, nationalism, monarchy, racism and other fogs of thought keep us from seeing what we need to see to save Earth before it is too late. To bad there aren't more men like Richard Dawkins in positions of authority.

This book is so delightful and educational. So accessable and entertaining. Children and adults alike will enjoy and be fascinated and stimulated. One to read every year I think!
