I bought this metal chair base to replace a tired plastic item. The new base is metal, sturdy, wide for good stability, easy to put together and worked perfectly with my existing casters and lift cylinder. It was a little more expensive than I hoped but now I am using it I can see it is worth the price.

Buying this base proved to be a good gamble and purchase in the end. I bought it in chrome which was my son’s choice to replace his black plastic moulded one that came with his executive styled office chair for gaming. We gave this a go buying this as one of the wheels on my sons chair kept coming off when he wheeled around in the chair as one of the wheel sockets cracked and wouldn’t home the wheel in place any more. Bought this one and it turned out to be a perfect replacement, but way better quality bring metal. We just popped his original wheels back on. We looked at a YouTube video to get tips on how to part the gas chamber out of the wheel base. Advise on doing this so you don’t damage the gas cylinder. It was quick and easy but avoid the pin on the gas cylinder base. Thus MUST NOT be hit or damaged. This chrome base makes the chair look way nicer, classy and robust. Brilliant purchase as it’s saved my son buying a whole new chair for £130+ when it was still in good condition. It was just the wheel base that had broken. So chuffed with our money saving purchase.

I was expecting a one piece item like a cast aluminium chair base I've had before, this is not that, it is a central hub that you attach tubular steel legs onto with some hex screws. Initial thoughts were that it looks pretty flimsy and naff. But to be fair, once assembled it seems sturdy, does the job fine and since it's below me I don't really have to look at it. I threw away the chromed plastic cover for the hub as it looks better without it! Gas piston fitted right in, old castors fit fine (and it now rolls much more smoothly somehow). Some of the legs were scuffed straight out of the box, but again, don't have to look at it. Assembly was straightforward, took 5-10 minutes. Getting my old chair out of it's broken base on the other hand, took serious effort, with WD40, 2 mallets, a Black and Decker workmate, and finally resorting to a saw and axe.... So by comparison, assembling and fitting this replacement base was the easiest part of the whole process and I really appreciated that. Overall, cheap but does the job.

Used this to replace a metal base that had badly designed plastic inserts holding the wheels, when the plastic inserts broke up. The hardest part of this was just getting the old base off the chair, it had wedged itself on to the shaft. The new base slotted on just fine and the existing wheels went into that easily. Only had light use so far but seems sturdier than the original.

Very happy my Jysk gaming chair had a cracked plastic base . I was able to assemble and fit this steel base in 25 minutes. Everything fits nice and the existing casters just pushed in. Using it for a week now with no issues. I would definitely buy again if needed, but this just feels right, sturdy and tight. Saving me from dumping a 200eur chair.

Bought this to replace a plastic base where all the wheels snapped off in the same place. The company where I bought the chair originally went bust, I wonder why? Anyway, this is a million times better, all metal and feels pretty sturdy. The original wheels fit fine and I've had no issues so far. It's easy to put it together and swap it out. It doesn't come with a gas cylinder - I think I saw a review somewhere that mentioned one. A thumbs up from me.

On my gaming chair, wheel plastic socket broke and would not hold wheel anymore. Instead of replacing whole chair, I just replaced the base. Everything fits, original cylinder and casters. Now I have much sturdier chair that can take some abuse. It was bit of a challenge to detach pneumatic cylinder from seat steel support bracket, so I placed the cylinder with bracket to the freezer and then carefully took it out with wooden mallet.

This is the best base I've found for making my chair sit higher off the ground and prevents cats from getting paws and tails stuck if I move to get up and don't see them. All smooth surfaces and very sleek. Takes up less space than plastic ones. The wheels are good, too. I didn't use them on my main chair but they were a good replacement for the one in my spare room

Everything bearing any load is metal unlike the one it replaced. Must be assembled but that is easy and it comes with a 4mm Allen wrench. Fast delivery and a good price, Im happy with this purchase.

item received as per advertised & the chair base looks sturdy & well built...pretty much the kind of material me am looking for...hope it can outlast the default chair base which was not the metal type...easy to fix & install...overall am truly satisfied with the purchase...great pricing & highly recommended!!!
