Easy set-up and works great!
I purchased this unit to install on an older 40" Samsung TV in the workout room in my basement. I previously had a 2nd Gen Fire TV stick installed on it. I use the Plex app to play media content from my home server; Plex ended support for my 2nd Gen device so I needed to replace it. After doing some research, I chose to purchase the Express 4K+. I know it is not the newest model (2022), but it has all the features I need for this TV which is typically only used when working out. Set-up was very easy. I installed it in the same place where the Fire TV stick was installed, plugged it in and let it do its thing. After installing firmware updates and registering the device (I have a Roku account so this was easy), the unit was ready to go. Of course, I needed to set up my accounts on the streaming services I use (i.e. Netflix, Peacock, Amazon Video, etc.) and set it up to access my Plex server. The whole process was complete inside of an hour. One bonus that I got extremely lucky with - the Express 4K+ uses an IR remote versus the Fire TV stick which uses a proprietary technology. The TV is hooked up to an old Yahama home theater system and I use an old Harmony 650 remote to control the TV and the Yahama. Since the Express 4K+ uses an IR remote, I was able to program the Harmony remote to control it so I only need one remote for the entire set-up. When the Fire TV stick was installed, I could control it a little using HDMI-CEC but it did not work very well. Now, everything is very seamless with one remote. When I purchased the unit, I did not notice that it was "renewed" versus "new". As long as the unit lasts a while, I don't care that it is not new!

I like it better than Firestick
I've been using Amazon Firestick on all my tvs since I decided to dump cable and only stream. One of the streaming services I have, Paramount+, started having issues where the app would not work. This issue affected only Firesticks. After going back and forth with Paramount+ Customer service I was told that if I used a Roku the app would work, so I broke down and got one. Everything works fine, Paramount+ still won't work with the Firestick but it works with the Roku.... I should've went with the Roku to begin with.

Works like I expect.
This device used in combination with a Motorola MoCA adapter (no longer available) works excellently. I "cut the cord" a few months ago. There are Roku apps for local and national news channels, PBS and weather. During sports season I'll subscribe to one of the streaming services. There are I think over 100 free channels, old sitcoms, westerns, things like that. There's really nothing else to say, it works with no complaint, no buffering, perfect HD picture. My TV doesn't support 4k.

Roku is best!
I have large flat screen tvs all throughout my house. All of em either run off a roku device or are an actual roku tv. Roku is the easiest and most straightforward streaming devices to use in my opinion. My living room tv is a Google tv and I absolutely hated it's functionality and constant lag I experienced with it. So I bought this 4k express roku device and that cured all the issues I had with my 70". It also really enhanced the 4k resolution in my tv by switching it out of 1080 pixel and into the HDR 2160 pixel I was wanting. The remote it comes with is voice activated and controls my tv as well as the roku device simultaneously. It's a no brainer, just buy it!

Get what you pay for.
The Roku worked just fine. The remote that came with it had the up arrow smashed into the housing of the hand held. So when you pressed on the up arrow it would stick and keep going up and up. Luckily we had the remote from the old Roku it replaced. So we were fine. So much for quality check when selling it as refurbished. I am glad I had the old remote. I did pay half of what I would have for a new one. So I guess you get what you pay for. Not likely to buy Amazon refurbished again.

A New Roku Express 4K at a great value without the Original Box
For a "Renewed" product this looks great! It's a new package that comes in a box that is not the original one. The Roku Media Player and Remote Control are wrapped in plastic, they were unwrapped for photo purposes. For the description of this product, what you see on this picture is what you will get when you purchase this product.
