Love these Scotty rod holders!
Have these mounted in my boat and love the quality of the Scotty rod holders

If you have never used these you probably think they are plastic, bulky looking ........
They are bulky and they are reinforced with some space age futuristic plastic. But if you mount these on a kayak with backing plates they are as sturdy as you will ever need. You will break the plastic kayak before these break. I have had these on older boats for years. Some of the rod holders are almost 20 years old and probably caught thousands of fish. Ive tried different options for my kayak and for what I do and the kind of fish I fishing for the track mount holders are just not good enough. The rod holders for the tracks are fine but the track will either fail or pull the screws out of the track mount eventually. So I bought two more bases and will find 2 spots to mount these with the scotty backplates then call it good.

I attached this to my kayak because I cut my tray off my kayak to make room for me to fit in it. I installed a drybox to my tray with small rope and can dangle it off the front if I need to use the full tray. I used the following products to attach this to my kayak...Scotty #241-BK Side Deck Mounting Bracket (mounted just in front of the portal on my kayak)Scotty #429 Extended Gear Head Adapter (fits into mounting bracket above)Scotty Bait tray attaches directly to extension adapter.Everyone compliments the way my kayak is set up and I owe much of that to this set up. Don't miss out on this because of doubt.
