Does the Land Guard 2pcs galvanised steel raised garden bed come with metal rods to fix across the middle for stability?

Yes it does. Halfway down the long sides there are two three part rods one attaches to the lower bolts connecting the side panels and one which attaches to the upper bolts. Hope this helps.

How many litres of compost is required to fill this?

The volume for the 4ft by 2ft planter is about 2 x 2 x 1 + (pi x pi x 2 x 2)/4 x 1 = 4 + 3.14 = 7.14cu.ft. At roughly 28.3 litres to the cubic foot that is 202 litres if you fill it right to the top or about 150 litres if you fill to within 3 inches of the top.
