Excellent splitter
This unit has no 12v on the sockets which makes it ideal for amateur radio and scanners. Its a good quality and provides good amplification on each connection.

Perfect!
Our previous booster broke after 8 years of use and our picture on the kitchen & bedroom was dreadful and could only get a few channels. This was easy to instal and just as good as the old one at a fraction of the price. Excellent buy, good value.

Does not do Magic Eye passthrough
This appears to be a very well made unit, with professional F-connectors on inputs and outputs. Unfortunately SLx make distribution amplifiers with and without Magic Eye IR passthrough, and this one (model 28134PI/14) doesn't support it.If you need IR passthrough, models 27820BMR (4 way), 27823BMR (6 way), 27824BMR (8 way) do it, although these use standard (Belling Lee) aerial connectors rather than F connectors. Similar-looking models with numbers ending HSR do not support it though.SLx Gold multi-output models are another option to look at.

Excellent DIY Choice
I bought this to distribute tv aerial to 8 TVs to replace a loftbox which failed.Everything you need is in the box, including a cap for unused terminal and a template for the screws making installation very easy.

Two stars withheld ..see below.
I have a loft aerial system and my amplifier system, consisting of multiple boosters piggy backed off each other and installed before the conversion to digital television occurred, had developed a fault. As the technology was quite old it pulled a lot more power than a new single modern booster would, so it was time to upgrade. The SLx 8 +1 way booster ticked all the boxes and was cheaper than the SLx 6 +1 way equivalent so it was the option that I ordered. When the unit arrived, I examined the box and the factory seals were still in place so the package was new as expected. When I opened the box and examined the contents I found that a component, the 75ohm terminator was missing. I wasn't completely surprised by this as other reviewers have already commented on this problem. I have therefore withheld two stars because a) this is a quality control failure at the manufacturing plant, b) this is a known problem and the affected stock is knowingly being shipped to the customers. This shortage was however not a problem for me as I intended to use the full channel. The unit is mains powered and comes with a fitted mains lead and plug. The sockets on the unit are not the traditional ones (RF coax) you find on the back of television sets but the same as you will typically find on satellite equipment (F type). As I was upgrading an old installation and didn't want to change the wiring, I purchased 10 adapters (F type male to RF Female) to on amazon. The unit provides one input socket for the TV aerial a second input socket for an FM radio or DAB aerial. This means if you have both an FM and DAB aerial you also need an external combiner for these. Acording to the instructions the TV input socked will detect and provide a 12V supply to an aerial head amp automatically if connected directly to it. I did not test this function. There are 8 standard output sockets and one Full (Boosted) output socket. Mounting of the unit is provided by two slots on the back which mount on two panhead screws (not provided) previously screwed into a surface.I tested the unit against my worst case run which is to my lounge and connects my TV, PVR and Onkyo FM receiver. When connected to a standard output my television gave readings (out of 10) of Power = 6 and Quality 10 on all channels. When connected to the Full output the readings for power were between 7 and 8 between the channels and the Quality was 10. The real benefit for me of the Full output was in the improvement in performance of my FM receiver. Radio 3 and Classic FM sound absolutely fabulous (analogue far better than DAB imo) and a number of weaker stations became usable. These figures are a good improvement on my previous system which managed between 5 and 7 for the power and 7 to 9 on the quality.Overall, I'm very pleased with the unit. Would have been 5 stars but for the quality assurance issue.
