Nice unit, works well with my 2000 Buick Lesabre. This unit is short on the depth so it makes it easy to install.

Great stereo for the price. I have always liked JVC and this is no exception. The extra sound features are excellent, made my 2006 Toyota Tacoma extra-cab very much louder and great clarity. Clear BT connection and seamless reconnection as soon as I turn on vehicle. Only gave 4 stars because would not connect to my iHeart app?

Plays well, nice features; has the same interface almost all JVC and Kenwoods share so a few buttons and options are what separates most of those player models since the software seems to be identical across dozens of models. (The same Operating System) however I received one which was malfunctioning intermittently ever 2 - 3 days, this is not the case of what I read in most reviews which was on average 4.5 - 4.6 and higher; they got the flawless ones and I just got a unlucky hit which any TV, Cellphones, New Car, hell even a new Lexus can be a lemon (trust me on that one) or even a Microwave can be a defective unit out of the box. All brands have a percentage of products which malfunction so I did not deduct stars for this. I rated solely on the performance, features and how pleased I was with the receivers functions for the price, before malfunctions started happening. Both our cellphones work perfect and many apps on Play store did as well. Since using the Smartphone to control tunes and play list more effectively which by the way is how many of these media receivers are setup for; I did not discount stars for the small and inconvenienced location of the previous and next button. They work fine and are easy to access most of the time, but larger buttons would be much better for sure The unit plays extremely well, USB 3.0 and 2.0 (tried both) flash drive formatted up to 128GB with a FAT32 formatter plays all 128Gb of music in FLAC file format I stuffed on them to see how well it would work. Creativeaudio.net provided immediate prompt service and even a return phone call when I had a question.

Bought the radio in June and here we are in September and it's already dead.

Ordered for a Jeep Wrangler 2002 TJ. We mistakenly thought it had the installation kit to fit for the Jeep but it did not. This was our error. This unit did not come with anything other than the radio itself. Also one picture showed a microphone for a bluetooth but it did not come in the package. I have noticed there is now a different picture for the product. It did have the simple wiring harness. This was shipped as advertised. We sent this back and ordered from another company that had all the installation pieces with it. This was never installed so we can't speak for the quality and performance. .

I bought this JVC (KD-X340BTS) to replace the existing stereo in my wife’s 2002 Toyota Highlander. I used to install automotive alarm and stereos part-time so installation wasn’t an issue for me. Unfortunately, I had to remove and return the unit due to issues we encountered while testing. The Good: -Bluetooth functionality worked flawlessly with my wife’s Samsung Galaxy -Decent sound quality -Easy installation -Plays music from USB thumb drive – (But that’s it. See “The Bad” below) The Bad: -Although advertised has having 1.5A of max power, USB is very unstable – (Phone beeps randomly as if being plugged/unplugged, while battery charging indicator comes in and out. Tried with at least five different known-good high-quality USB data cables but with the same results). -USB Auto Mode does not reliably detect Android device/phone. A few times it detected it but usually errors out with “cannot read” message. We never got to play back any music from an android device/phone via USB -This might be a firmware issue and really not that big of a deal but the clock will not retain settings. In fact, clock doesn’t even move and is permanently at 12:00 AM. Every other setting including date, stations, color preference and other custom setting stays - except for the clock. If there was a specific procedure to set the darn clock it wasn’t on the manual. With all the features packed in this stereo I would've had no problem giving it five stars. Unfortunately, the USB port issue we encountered was a deal breaker and had no choice but to return the unit. If you're only going to use the USB port for a USB thumb drive then you 'd probably fine. But if you intend to use the USB port to plug in a smart phone to charge or play music from, you might want to look elsewhere.

I've been a fan of the JVC media players for their cost and features. The shallower mounting depth is also really helpful on vehicles like the Miata I installed this into. I was a little disappointed the text on the readout cannot change colors, but the lights on the buttons and dial can. Great to be able to customize the color to match the instruments on the dash. This unit works great with my iP6 and playback is much improved and faster to respond than previous JVC media players I have installed. Installation was easy and fast. I am happy with the results.

Awesome feature set, easy to install (installed in a 2006 prius). Bluetooth pairing is fast and easy, Bluetooth phone calls comes in loud and clear. Sound quality is also very good even on the factory paper speakers. Unfortunately I got a defective unit, seller fortunately is really good about replacement/returns.
