iRANGE A18 Ultra Slim Portable Induction Cooktop - Countertop Burner with 10 Temperature Levels, Overheat Protection, Timer, Child Lock

I have been using this multiple times a day everyday for a month and it continues to be a quality product. I have a tea pot that has a random leak problem and the unit continues to work even with water dripping off the side. The touch pad gets confused when wet but the inside of the unit seems well sealed against spills.It has a nice safety feature such that if the pot is removed it goes into a stand-by mode that beeps at you every few seconds and will eventually time-out and shut itself off after a minute or two.The instructions with the unit specify unplugging it when not in use which is a pain so I put the burner on a on/off switch that plugs directly into the outlet (you can get these nifty switches from big box hardware stores). That allows me to cut the power without having to unplug it after the burner finishes its cool-down mode.The unit seems to draw a lot of electricity when not in use (evidenced by a quick zap when the prongs touch the outlet contacts. There is nothing amiss with the outlet itself), so I'm not sure how much energy I am actually saving by using this to make tea instead of my electric stove top. Still, it's nice to have a 5th burner just for the teapot so I can have a vacant, cool stove top for cooking.

i do not know what the positive reviewers of this item are doing with theirs, but i cannot imagine they are cooking anything.this thing starts out at 1500 watts as soon as you place a pan on the cooktop. if you do not hurriedly click it down to a manageable temp, it will quickly scorch what you are cooking. poor design.. it should start at a low setting by default and then you click higher. i tell you, as soon as it comes on it starts blazing away at the highest setting. you do not get a chance to set anything. you have to QUICKLY tap, tap, tap, tap.. to get to a lower setting before it scorches.i will say this thing heats FAST. so does a blowtorch, but at least the blowtorch is more adjustable.it is not possible to simmer. if you go with the wattage setting, at the 100 setting it is not hot enough.. no simmer. next setting 200 it pulses every 5 secs.. dead still to rolling boil. no simmer possible here. if you go the temp setting route, it goes from 140f (not hot enough to simmer) to 212f (rolling boil).. again, no simmer. i cannot imagine trying to cook a piece of meat the way it pulses on and off with WIDE variations of temp.so if you are looking to boil water fast, this thing will do that. and i guess a pasta boiler and things like that ok... otherwise, useless... a novelty.i am glad i tried one of these, i was thinking of getting a full size range top with inductive technology. dodged a bullet there..now for the seller.. "toolup"... you are being warned. you WILL be sorry if you have to return an item to this outfit. all their positives are folk who did not have to deal further with these people than a ship out of an item. if it goes further than that, you are ON YOUR OWN. they will not make good. you can see that with the content of their neg feedback. filed a complaint with amazon, they say they are investigating. we'll see.synopsis:unusable productuntrustworthy seller

My wife and I love this product! it seems we are always looking for an excuse to use it. I really appreciate the simplicity of this specific cooktop, not to mention its sleek look goes well with our counter top. I've used several competing cooktops in the past and I have to say they all seem like they were designed in the 80's compared to this one. This boils water in less than a minute and looks great doing it. It shipped very fast from the seller and the price is unbeatable considering the high quality build of this particular product. I'm definitely happy with my purchase and highly recommend anyone interested in an induction cooktop to go with this one......you wont be disappointed!

I didn't think I would ever like cooking with an electric cooktop, but this one is great! it heats up so fast and cools down fast, too! We used to wait forever for a pot of water to boil for pasta...but not with the iRANGE cooktop...and I love the portability-cooking at the table, keeping food warm at a buffet, cooking side dishes outside when grilling. This cooktop is sleek and slim not big and clunky. It doesn't have any grooves or buttons that are hard to keep clean. It is very easy to use. It came very securely packaged and delivered very fast.

I must have spent an hour looking at different induction cooktops on Amazon, and I've gotta say I'm glad I picked this one. The design is sleek and modern. It brings water to a boil in no time, and I can easily adjust the temperature to suit my needs. The timer is a great feature, allowing me to set and forget cook times. Thanks to the flat surface, clean up afterwards is so easy. Just a simple wipe down with a wet cloth and the cooktop is good as new. Overall a fantastic purchase, especially for the price paid.

It works better then my last one!

I've used this daily for a couple months and it's not that great if you like to cook. Temp settings are lousy, you have to set the wattage and temperature each time when you turn it on, and I'm not sure what the wattage setting does, it preforms the same at 1500 vs 1000, the temp settings are not precise enough, every time you pick the pan up, lets say to flip the contents, it beeps, it's overall pretty loud. It doesn't heat the pan evenly, is you put water in a fry pan, it only boils it in the very middle. Not the pan's fault, the pan is high quality. The heating element only heats from the very center. this is the only one I've tried, but there's got to be better ones out there.

Like the size and type of heating.Would have liked it better with a lower heating choice and to know or have a warranty.
