The Simplest Way to Change the World: Biblical Hospitality as a Way of Life

In an effort to be more “on mission”, and more intentional in sharing the gospel story with people who don’t know Christ, I searched for books on hospitality. This has been my favorite! It is filled with personal experiences and examples, as well as practical tips. The authors caused me to think outside the box with ideas I had never thought of concerning how to build personal relationships that encourage gospel conversations, all in the comfort of home. I can’t wait to put this into action, and pray that God will use me in changing the world for Christ’s sake!

Thoreau said that a truly good book teaches us better to read it, that we must "soon lay it down and commence living on its hint." This is that kind of book. The ideas laid out in this book are relevant, practical, and sadly un-proclaimed throughout many circles of Christendom. It is full of wisdom which is reinforced through compelling stories, research, and practical guidance for personal application.Before reading this book I didn't consider hospitality to be something I needed to work to improve in my life, mainly because I simply didn't think often of hospitality. However as I read it, I found it challenging my assumptions and revealing my inward motivations. I would highly recommend for those who truly want to grow in their role in the Christian family.

This book gives thought provoking and inspirational content to encourage believers to be actively involved with God and his work to reconcile people to himself by using your home. I would recommend this book to any Christian who desires to involved in sharing the gospel with others, but who isn't sure how to go about it. The authors give many concrete and do-able suggestions for turning your home into a strategic tool for advancing God's kingdom

Overall it was a very good read. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, and it was a smooth read. However, I was a bit discouraged and was expecting something more. Where the discouragement started was with the "always rule", that then turned into the "sometimes rule". After that a disbelief set in with me on the author and this game plan.

Have you ever been terrified by the thought of doing evangelism? I have! Well, this is the book for you! Rather than being prepared to step onto a street corner and preach, all we have to do is invite someone over to our house! Who knew? Seriously, this book is incredible. The authors have a very comfortable, conversational style that draws you in. Just the simple idea of opening your home to friends, neighbors, acquaintances, and strangers can draw people to Christ as they see you living out the gospel every day. I was especially glad that my house doesn't have to be spotless and I don't have to prepare gourmet meals! Just a cup of coffee and some cookies, or an outdoor BBQ, or a simple pot of spaghetti will do. The book also includes a 6-week study outline, so the it would be great for small group studies or Sunday School classes. I bought several copies, and plan to give them away. I personally placed one in the Pastor's hands last week. Great read!

This book projects well-organized topics, with questions at the end of chapters. It also incorporates practical insight on how to approach intentional biblical hospitality and challenges the Christian believer to live out the command of our LORD to love our neighbor and share the gospel.

Good point of view. Short, easy but important read.

This book gives not only practical examples of how to be the Gospel in our communities, but backs them up with both a specific and wider view of how scripture treats hospitality and what it all means. It changed by view of how I want to serve my community.

Practical, helpful and easy to read. Buy two so you can bless a friend with one.
