I buy a Vaultz Clipboard every year for work and the big problem I've always had is the latch breaking or dropping my clipboard. Now, with the added carry strap I no longer have the issue of holding a boxy clipboard and carrying my child back and forth from work. The combination lock definitely solves the latch issue as well.

This is a great product. It is a clipboard on top with lockable storage inside. Basically a portable desk. The outside is covered with a smooth black exterior that has a subtle faux leather texture but is basically smooth and makes a good writing surface. The sides are not flimsy or bending. Those who call this product cheap and flimsy are wrong. This is a good, rugged field box and gives a feeling of good quality. As others have mentioned, the clip on the clipboard top is strong and will hold up to about 1/3rd inch of papers securely. The aluminum side rails and steel corners make for long lasting use, The corners, hinges, lock, clip, wall hanger and even nameplate are all riveted for secure holding. The box even has 4 small metal feet on the hinge side so it can stand like a briefcase The lock functions just like a briefcase lock and the combination can be changed to whatever you want and instructions for doing such are included. Two D rings on the sides allow for carrying with a strap, but being a clipboard primarily, I do not use it that way. Inside is ample room for storing documents, forms, writing pads, cell phone, flashlight, wallet, eyeglasses, calculator, maps, etc... The interior has a black cloth lining with a velcro strap for holding documents secure and the lid side has 4 net pockets with elastic. Three pockets along the bottom are small and would only hold small items like a pencil eraser. The top pocket is bigger and would hold half sheet size papers or whatever. There is a keyhole hangar on the back, but I can't see anyone hanging this thing on a wall. I will probably just put Gorilla tape over the hangar hole to keep out debris. The case is made in Viet Nam. It is an excellent value for the $27 and would be worth even more. For that amount of money you could not ask for more than what this delivers. This is a handsome, rugged and functional clipboard/field box/portable desk and can be used by almost anyone in some way. Great for students, people who work in a field job, as a document box to keep in a car or truck, in an office, etc... Recommended.

I have been using this for six months or so and I really like it. It is durable and looks good. Mine has a combination lock built in and came with a security cable for locking it to a secure object to prevent theft. It has two small but functional pockets inside that are secured with a Velcro flap. It also has numerous elastic mesh storage pockets that are only good for very small objects such as paper clips. The paper storage area has two Velcro strips for keeping your papers / notebooks neat. I have an 11" tablet that fits well with out the bag. I wish it had a place for storing pens, the pockets are not long enough. It is a very thick case.
