Practical, realistic exercises to live better with my ADHD!
My favorite book about ADHD ever! I feel like I’ve read every ADHD book out there. Most seem to be telling me how to fight ADHD and function in a neurotypical world - but this book shows me ways I can CARE for myself to make my life with ADHD better. The writing and layout are ADHD friendly with 5 short chapters written in sections 1-2 pages long. Each section and subsection are clearly labeled in contrasting colors so I don’t get overwhelmed with the material (and it’s easy to stop reading and pick back up where I left off). The exercises are ADHD-relevant - not just the usual “bubble bath and manicure” type of self care. For example, there is a chapter about self care related to professional/career life. The exercises are also realistic and achievable for a person with ADHD. (For example, A different book might suggest taking a whole day to go through my budget but that’s not practical for someone like me). I appreciate that this book addresses self care for some of the serious challenges related to ADHD such as depressive episodes and driving distracted. In doing so, it acknowledges that living with ADHD can be really tough which I find comforting and validating. My struggles have made me feel debilitated and hopeless BUT reading this book made me feel hopeful, empowered, and like there’s actual things I can do to help myself live better. This would also be a thoughtful gift to give someone you care about who has ADHD!

Helpful Tips in Bitesize Format
I heard Dr. Sasha Hamdani as a guest speaker on a podcast I was listening to. I was intrigued when they briefly touched on her new book. As a person diagnosed with ADHD within the past 6 months, I am on a deep dive into learning about the topic and trying to find tips to help me in my everyday life. This book is perfect for this!I found this book to be easy to read at random moments (like when standing in line waiting for my turn or when I had a few minutes here and there, but not enough to start anything indepth). She also points out specific places to jump to if wanting to know more about the current item you are reading, so for anyone who likes to randomly read through a book (I am a cover to cover reader) this will be a helpful feature for you. Will you find every item in the book helpful for you? Probably not. You will, however, likely find a large portion of the items resonating with you, and that will make this book a wonderful addition to your collection. I read the book on Kindle and now plan to get a physical copy so that I may easily go back and reread items as needed!

Great book
I was skeptical at first about this book. There are a lot of people writing personal experience books claiming to be some sort of expert on the subjects but not giving helpful information. This is not the case with this book. This book covers all aspects of ADHD. I bought multiple copies, and would highly recommend this book to any person with ADHD.

Great Book and Easy Read By An Amazing Author
I follow Dr. Sasha on TikTok and IG, and when she mentioned she had a book coming out I was pretty ecstatic. As someone who suffers with Combined ADHD and diagnosed late, I still have a ton of trouble figuring out how to do even simple things. Of course the diagnosis was a life saver to know why it was difficult in the first place.Dr. Sasha, who also has ADHD, made me feel seen and heard. Made feel like I could succeed and be someone great even with ADHD and so I knew her book would be amazing and it is. I mean it is taking time to read but the sections are great in that, I can read a section and then put it down and read another when I can or need. I can jump around based on what I need in my life too. Which is strange for me because I'm used to reading front to back in order.I love it and recommend to anyone who has ADHD, knows someone with it, therapist, doctors, or just anyone in general. And follow her social media, she is really relatable and just an amazing person.

solid nuggets to manage ADHD
Great bite-sized nuggets of advice and guidance to work with the ADHD brain and behaviors. Much of the advice for self-care are useful, and familiar, from the usual self-help wisdom for what works to make life easier, more manageable, and to reduce anxiety and stress. I liked the parts that helped shed more light on what the ADHD brain does, and how the self-care nugget would benefit an ADHD brain.Shallow level of knowledge shared on ADHD here. I would want more options to go deeper presented with many of the topics. I understand this is not that kind of book, but there are no sources cited, further reading recommendations, or links to other sources of information on ADHD.I read and recommended this to friends with ADHD as better way to help them cope, and to be supportive by understanding their brains more. Would recommend to anyone who supervises employees to understand more ways to help the team be productive.

Realistic Ways!
I was skeptical of the book based on the title cause often self care can be unrealistic and overly romanticized. However, it was realistic and quality was that ADHD folks can take care of themselves emotionally, mentally, and physically.

Fun and Simple Read!
Absolutely loving this book! As soon as I received it, I loved the colorful cover of it making me reach for it more often. It was simple to read because I can read a few things and return to it later. It's been insightful with Dr. Sasha sharing her own experience with ADHD. It's relatable, it's fun, and it's an absolute must-have book to read. Sometimes I read little snippets of it to my family to have them understand what it feels like in my brain.

Common sense advise
I. did not find the book to be particularly useful. The majority of the suggestions in it are really just common sense. I will be returning this book.

My new favourite ADHD book!
I’ve been waiting for this to be released since last year and I’m so happy I finally have it my hands. A lot of books for people with ADHD aren’t written/structured with ADHD in mind… Until this book came along! This one sums up everything you need to know in an easy-to-read/engaging format. The chapters, even the topics within the chapters are short, to the point, and leave you wanting to learn more, which in my opinion, motivates me to do more research. All topics in the book are relevant; I found myself thinking, ‘oh, that’s something I’ve worked on, that’s how I worked on it’ or ‘wow, I’ve wanted to work on this, and now I can’. I’ve only read random portions of it so far but it makes me feel like overcoming ADHD isn’t as hard as I thought it was. The book puts ADHD into perspective and doesn’t overcomplicate like other ADHD resources. I am forever thankful!

A good self help book
With someone with ADHD, I’m trying to understand myself more and find ways to help myself! I haven’t quite finished it yet (you know ADHD and things 😂🙈) but I must say it’s a great book so far!Really knowledgeable, interesting and it really makes me feel understood! For so long I put off my symptoms and thought if I ignored it long enough it wouldn’t be an issue (boy was I wrong!). I’m 23 struggling with really bad anxiety and depression from untreated ADHD. It all caught up to me and then I was at a breaking point where I really needed to take the time to care for myself and find coping mechanisms to help with who I am as a person! If you have ADHD or know someone who has it and you want to better understand them, I highly recommend it!

You need this.
After 35 years of age I am just finding out that I have ADHD! This book, and not only this book, but this author is incredible at describing the different scenarios/problems that ADHD people face on a daily basis. This book is giving you short, little daily self-care tips and tricks that you can read/do that can help you cope with all the overwhelming feelings/emotions that we face every day. Making you feel like you’re not alone in your battle; I felt like I was alone with before finding this. How ADHD can creep up into your everyday life in every faucet. I am honestly going to purchase a few more copies and give them out to my friends who have ADHD as well. The knowledge in this book is priceless.
